Then let DeSantis swoop in for the victory as the "sane candidate".
I would love to see Trump get another term, but I think the MSM has poisoned too much of the country to the name for it to work. The smart move is to use that against them.

We being of general belief that dems are never on th gun owners side, and Republicans are only marginally better for us have to think on a larger scale than the individual thinking not of winning a single battle but the entire war instead.
That means winning an election based upon who we believe can win, not the individual himself. I like trumps policies, but the man himselfs name is the scourge of many voters and potentially was the reason for poor mid term performance fir Republicans. That itself won't fade in voters eyes for a long, long time and any attachments to him by a candidate will shade thier chances. DeSantis is trump with better potential electability and the ability to reach more of the electorate willing to vote for him instead of in trumps case, anybody BUT him. Additionally DeSantis is viewed more moderately than trump therefore less "radical " ( even though he isn't) and thus provides us with a better opportunity in 2024 IMO. I really like trump, but for gun owners opposing dems it might be better if he drops early and avoids splitting the party.

Politics is broken in the US, and for way too many reasons that I care to type about... Trump winning the Republican National Convention in 16' certainly exposed a lot of it, and Biden winning the 2020 Presidential election the rest... It's all bullshit, and for the amount of attention it gets, both in the media and elsewhere is clearly driven to divert attention from the real problems which exist, but politicians are ineffectual at addressing, like immigration as an example.
