See ya there.Well, not that I think it has any real chance of going anywhere, but I will do my part. I'm taking off work at 2:30 and heading over there to show my support. I'll see those of you who make it there.

Like Marijuana Laws - Illegal Immigration - Sanctuary States or Heller and McDonald, Cuomo will just ignore it and do what the highest donation wants. We need something at the Federal level. The State is a lost cause.

Well, it was interesting, but if it gets any traction, I'll be damned surprised.
One more thing: I got an aside with Collins afterwards, and asked him about HR38. He replied: what's that? (Here's a hint: you're one of 207 sponsors of the National Reciprocity Bill...). He replied that it is going nowhere because the NRA refuses to support it at all as it would need to set some minimum national standards, and they are totally against that according to him. Also, he said that restrictive states like NY and others would flip out over the prospect of people from states with very minimal requirements being able to come to highly restrictive states like NY and especially NYC and carry... So, I'm guessing that HR38 is pretty much worthless and only for show.
Now, back to our regularly scheduled programming...

Now...just what does THAT tell you about Collins and the NRA ?
One: Collins doesn't even remember the bill he CO-SPONSORED. Yup....he's dedicated to the cause.
Two: National concealed carry reciprocity is DOA because the NRA won't back it due to "minimal national standards" and cities like NYC would "flip out" if people from free America could carry concealed in the 5 Boroughs.
You NRA supporters/apologists get it yet ?
So you support minimal national standards?
The states that don't require a license will now have issue them that meet some minimal standard. And you think the NRA should back that?
All the NRA backs are minimal amounts of money raised so the question is moot from the onset.
Doesn't one have to take a safety course to obtain a hunting license or use the ranges at the local gun club ? If minimal standards are a safety course that the NSSF for example creates and administers then I'd have no problem with it. If it's a government thing then no I certainly won't support it.
Minimal Standards are a NICS check. Everyone gets those. Or are they saying that NICS isn't good enough?
I did. Heller says the 2A is not just for the home. So a NICS should be sufficient. You really should go back and read post #36!

It was edited for grammar reasons not content and the NRA Instructor program is one of the few things the NRA hasn't screwed up....yet.Glad you edited that!
This is would be the government requiring a minimal standard! No matter who designed the safety course. And how about the states that don't require and safety courses for a pistol license their really going to like that!
You're idea would be a great boost for NRA instructor's thank you!

The bill makes no mention of requirements. That's just the NRA saying that as a way out. Did you read the actual bill? You don't comprehend very well!
The quote was '' the NRA refuses to support it at all as it would need to set some minimum national standards" So a state that only requires a NICS may not meet the minimum requirements! I would think you would support that? It is not going to change the maximum requirements that a state like ours has!

It's a sham and dog and pony that they are promoting it or else they would really promote it. Colion isn't just a guy. He's in the in of the NRA and even hosts their show.I am quoting what Collins was quoted in post #36!
The NRA is still promoting this on there site!

If he said what he said, then the NRA isn't backing this for real no matter what their website says.
They only need to offer a license that meets standards for reciprocity.Glad you edited that!
