Who is ready for camping this year?
Got anything planned yet? Going anywhere exciting?

I usually go out twice on my vacations to get my fix, spring and early fall.
My main objective is to escape and not rough it. Tis my vacation after all.

So...where we headed boys?

I usually go to KOA Farmington/Canandaigua. Literally farms surrounding the campground. Kind of want to change it up.

Selkirk was still fun, did our first fall camping trip and it was awesome. Loved not sweating. Wish Selkirk was full hookup. Do you have a rv?

No RV. Did the whole tent thing for a while. Then my back said no. Been cabin renting for a few years (the beds arent much better tbh).

Looking into something where I can utilize my bed. Got plenty of payload to work with.

Never found a place to store it. And prices I found for storage wouldnt be worth it. Still would like one, but storage is the main issue.

There are other mini campers out there but they are the cheapest I found. If I had disposable cash, I would get a intech.

Thats what I was considering. $2k and build out however Id like.

On the other hand...my truck just rolled 100k, 8ft bed and is an unusual color (look weird on a different colored truck). So I could transfer but colors.

There is a guy that builds aluminum caps in East Syracuse. He texted me they start at $865 but most leave around $1200-1300.

Whats smaller than a popup?

My Cox! Seriously I have a very small pop up camper made by COX it's so small and light that it weighs in at about 850 lbs but still folds or more like flops out two beds, that's it just beds the table is an accessory.
We spend a lot of weekends at our camp, mostly because of our work schedule but still try for 2 trips to the ADK's. Usually end up around Moose River Plains for a bit then head North to Lake Lila or Horseshoe lake, sometimes canoe up the Bog River to Hitchens pond, don't go much farther than that anymore cause of age and out of shape.

Semi retired now. So far the only thing planned is a week in the Adirondacks mid-summer. I'm sure that other opportunities will present themselves the closer we get to warmer weather

Probably will still be stuck rotting in this god forsaken shit hole, so likely be heading back to the Cooperstown KOA. I think last year was the first year in the last 20 that we didn't go there. Sold the camper a couple of years ago. Sold the truck last year. Looking like back to tenting. Just have to figure out how to get up off the ground in the morning.

I’m planning to backpack in the Adirondacks as I’ve done the past two years. One for camping/fishing in July and another for hunting in October.

every single weekend, we take three day weekends in the summer and go to camp. The only way to get there is by boat, or ATV/sled in the winter, but this winter has been so warm, no one has been on the lake. The camp is completely off grid, we run on batteries and solar. the place is 2½ hours from home

Yes very excited. We are doing a few camping trips this year. We go to the thousand islands and stay at wellsey island. The week before that the kids go to church camp for the entire week. The wife and I will be alone for a week!!
we’re going to letchworth I think Memorial day, Sampson state park in august, alleghany state park labor day, and possibly one or two others.
