I was debating on the 455 and getting ir pills for my night master lights. It is just hard for me to get out in the winter month so it’s hard to justify the purchase.

I might pick up a night vision by pulsar. Can’t justify $6k+. I almost bought a flir pts233 a few years ago....flir pulled out of the civilian scope market.

That doesn’t look like a lot of blood too me in the pics. You would think there would be more consistent blood after the cavity filled up. Tracking in thick brush sucks if there isn’t enough blood. Positive in tracking in thick brush is the blood will be on the brush and not easily lost.

How do you feel about the shot taken? Good/bad/marginal? If bad or marginal, give it some time. A wounded deer can go a long way if you kick it up. Do you have any dog trackers in your area to call?

I have a tikka t3x stainless in 300 win mag, it comes in at 6 lbs, bare. I bought it as a project gun.

Problem with ffp scopes at close range is it can be hard to see your reticle with your magnification on low. Now if your optic has illuminated reticle, you can use it as a red dot.

I use 4-15 and 3-9 powered scoped on my hunting rigs.

I find rifle length more of a issue than weight

I believe my tikka t3x ctr comes in at around 12 lbs without ammo and mag. I don’t find it too heavy.
