The way this was rammed up our asses might make it harder to get a bump-stock ban. Maybe some pols learnt their lesson.
Let 'em have the bump stocks and get back our pistol grips, telescoping stocks and muzzle "breaks".
TTAG Exclusive: ATF's Proposal to Regulate Bump Fire Stocks as Machine Guns - The Truth About Guns
We should be ready to flood them when the comment period starts.
SUMMARY: The Department of Justice anticipates issuing a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) that would interpret the statutory...
Does the military still use SA / FA rifles anymore or are they all SA / burst?
Full auto has very little tactical use. It's mainly for suppressing fire, not direct fire on a threat. It's inherently inaccurate. There is no instance where police in a public space would ever need or should be able...
I have a Shockwave. The recoil is not an issue. Nothing like I would have thought before I first shot it. I never would have bought one but I won it in a gun club raffle and I love it. Great HD weapon and great fun and after all, guns are supposed to be fun above all.
It adds an obtrusive protrusion that extends prominently out the bottom of the gun. It helps to fill in all that empty space in your safe, if you don't have another gun to put there.
Never had a problem, even with a full-length lever. My index / trigger finger / booger picker is either down inside the trigger guard, across it or below it. (Grasping the grip with all four fingers and the thumb is the safest way to keep my finger away from the trigger. It's not a "ready"...
Every AR needs an ambi safety, IMO. I'm righty and of course I use my thumb to take the safety off. That's easy. But setting the safety to on isn't, and even less so with the Thordsen. I use my trigger finger to reset the ambi safety. Once I'm done shooting, I don't need my trigger finger for...
Anybody know what type pistol he was using for a 200 yd shot?
The probability that it was a 50 yd shot at an actual deer that missed and continued on to hit the woman 200 yd away is infinitesimal. He was aiming at the woman and thought she was a deer.
Specifically, it looks to me like it's already illegal under 18 USC 922 (d).
18 U.S. Code § 922 - Unlawful acts
Not to mention state laws.
Maybe this new law would make it ILLEGALER!!
It's counter-intuitive. It doesn't run like any other gun in my arsenal. Even though they all may operate a little differently, they are all very intuitive. None of them require any math or thinking.
I would have thought that sounds a little ridiculous too, until I tried it. Just try before you...
I tried one at a range day put on by one of the local merchants of liberty. It was heavy but it felt solid, fuctioned well and had pretty good "pointability".
But I didn't like the operating system: rack once, shoot twice. Even sitting at a bench, I lost track. "Did just I shoot once or twice?"...
Has anyone been charged under the SAFE Act with possession of an AW, absent of any other charges? I mean, an otherwise law abiding gun owner getting jammed up for having a pistol grip, muzzle brake, telescoping stock, or any of the features listed in the law.
I still have not heard of anyone...
I love the look and finish of the billet lower, even though I wouldn't spend what most of them cost. Really nice.
But, ACH!!, that Keymod rail. I hate Keymod holes. They remind me of the adjustable shelving at Home Depot or Costco. At least M-Lok slots are just slots.
I've never been able to make it through a complete Nut'n Fancy video. The guy's a dick. WTF is "zeroing for steel"? You zero for a particular distance.
I have a Mini-14 Ranch in stainless / synthetic. I love it and shoot the hell out of it. Never had a single issue. Shoots 2-3 MOA with budget...
Why are you considering an M1903 for your first gun? Not that there's anything wrong with that. I have one and it's a beaut. But it seems like an odd choice for a first gun.
Did you just come across a good deal on one? If so, be careful. Some low serial numbered rifles had casting flaws in the...
Yeah, Magpul and others make loads of stocks that have fully enclosed openings in them. That doesn't make them thumb holes. As long as they're pinned so as not to telescope.
But that rifle is so butt ugly, if I were the governor, I would pass a law against it. So, fuck me.
Oh yeah. I've only built one so far and I enjoyed it so much I already have 2 or 3 more in mind and I don't know what to do next. Maybe a .300 Blackout or maybe a full-feature precision bolt-action. And it's not to save money. I can buy a Ruger RPS for about half the cost of building one but the...
I got that email today too. I hope more of the bigger retailers start to figure it out, like Cabela's and Midway. They have great sales and are as competitive as anyone when they have sales.
A week? Not even. The first dozen or so test shots, I fired into the backstop. Just to check rifle function, cycling etc. I wanted to keep the sighting target clean and I didn't even look through the scope. First some single shots, then 2 rounds in the mag to make sure the bolt hold-back and...
My basic tools list:
AR armorer's wrench (Tapco; hands down the best)
Roll pin punches (starter and finishing)
Lower vise block (goes in the mag well)
Upper vise block
1/2" drive torque wrench
Anti-seize grease for the barrel nut threads (Umbrella Corp)
1/4" universal clevis pin...
While I was between forums, I finished my first AR. It runs flawlessly, no matter what I feed it. Slings the brass a bit more than I'd like but that's better than the opposite problem.
The whole build went as well as I ever dared to hope. It's almost like I knew what I was doing.
Oh yeah, and...
That's been that way since NYF went Vertical Scope and hasn't changed. I don't know when NYGF was started but I'm just a lowly member there. Actually, I first heard about NYGF from one of the LIGC admins, so they should know better.
Anyways, we're all in this shithole together.
