All in good fun, and I don’t mean to speak poorly on the Fix. I am sure it’s a fantastic rifle. From my understanding, the feeding issues seem to strictly relate to the 6.5 creedmoor.
I did however put a Q Cherrybomb on my cross just to get the Q fans riled up!
Oh I am well aware of the similarities. I guess as long as I don’t have to put Velcro in the magwell for it to feed reliably... like Q’s Fix does, I’ll be happy. :)
I installed the SKS Magwedge scope mount today and thought I would give my first impressions. I will start by saying this is totally “bubba”, however I plan on hunting with this and my eyesight doesn’t lend well to irons.
After installing the mount i topped it with a Leupold 2-7 that I had...
Hello all,
I’m looking for Sierra 77gr TMKs and am located in the Rochester area. Anyone got a box they can part with? Any leads on stores or websites with them in stock would be appreciate.
thank you!
I took an empty box approximately 12” wide by 18” long and filled it with newspaper, paper, and magazines that had been soaked in water and tied tight with twine. The box was then placed directly behind and touching a 1 gallon plastic jug. I did not measure penetration, however I would guess...
I have successfully hunted whitetail with .223 for the past 5 years. All the deer I have taken have been with a 70gr Barnes tsx bullet out of an 11.5” BCM AR Pistol. I have no reason to doubt the round I’m using, however thought I would shoot a few different weighted bullets to see what kind of...
I will start by saying I am not an experienced archery shooter, and strictly shoot in preparation for deer season. I have been hunting my entire life, however bow hunting is relatively new to me. The past 2 years I have been hunting with a hand me down PSE bow that’s probably 15 years old at...
That’s my understanding as well. Looks like they are selling like hot cakes, but the next time they are in stock I’ll be getting one. I’ll update the thread when I get my hands on one.
FLUX M17 - I’m actually digging this ridiculous thing. I don’t know what roll this would fill, but honestly I would love to have a range session with it. ANDDDD... they don’t ship to NY or CA bummer. I’m assuming not legal due to weight restrictions? Can anyone confirm?
Completely agree with you, I’m out and about so can’t give more info... but plenty of the police agencies I work with use them. People on NYgunforum with high post count will always speak like they are the big dick of the law though... let em
Im sure some keyboard warriors will get upset, but I use a version of the AR maglock. This allows you to break the gun down and remove the magazine. It's all on your level of comfort. Do your own research and pick a system that you deem suitable.
I have one, and have used it for deer hunting the past 3 years. The only real downside is the fixed magazine, however it can be easily reversed if you ever move out of NY. I would recommend buying a complete upper, and stripped lower. register the lower as a pistol and build it to your liking...
Indeed it was. The area I hunt, makes it rare for a shot over 150 yards. I believe the longest shot on a deer i've taken in NY was around 140 yards with my 223.
Sorry about the crappy morning hunt for you, people can make things difficult. I try my hardest not to pressure our deer, however...
Congrats on the 700P! there are certainly a lot of upgrade options to suit your needs. I have been down the Remington 700 rabbit hole before and ultimately wish I would have done things differently. The best advice i can give you is to buy quality glass, and leave everything else stock. A good...
I have a 20" Noveske, and it was actually the first AR I ever purchased. As much as the rifle holds a sentimental value with me, I honestly have a hard time finding a purpose for it. I do enjoy shooting it, and I have shot some of the best groups of my life with it... but that's about it. For...
It was a fun morning in the woods today. Shot this guy at about 45 yards away with the super inadequate 223 pistol. 20 minutes later I had 2 doe come by being chased by a coyote. Shot the coyote on the run and tracked blood for about 300 yards before giving up on him. Really wish I could have...
I got my dad a crossbow for his birthday this year, and he just filled his tag with a great buck! The call I got from him when he found it totally made my day.
The shot was approximately 30 yards, and the bolt smashed through both shoulders.
Well I managed to take my second deer with a bow. Not the monster I would have hoped for, however my work schedule is picking up and I don’t know the next time I will be able to make it out.
A buddy of mine is an instructor for a class calling “Surviving the Griz” based out of Montana. One exercise the class does, is essentially the Tueller drill, where a target advances on you from 7 yards. They found that more times than not, something like a Glock 20 to be much faster, resulting...
I hate to say it, but I don't think you will find many people upgrading to a Hogue stock. McMillan makes some beautiful stocks, however I would rule that out as a cheap option. It ultimately comes down to the shooters intent for the rifle and the price he or she is willing to pay.
Embarrassing to admit, but that is the entrance wound. She was at 25 yards, and took a step forward right when I sent the arrow. The arrow exited out high in the rear leg and must have cut an artery. She went about 100 yards, and bled like crazy.
