most likely a store policy or county/town "rule", i bought some powder a few years back at runnings in gloversville, had to fill out a book for their powder inventory, i can't recall whether or not i needed to give a license number. As for the "keep with 4473 forms", it's retail, they are most...
any semi auto 5.56 rifle regardless of barrel length or gas length should function perfectly fine with a standard carbine buffer and spring, (unless it uses a rifle buffer tube). Heavier buffers are a fix for feeding issues with M855 or bolt bounce on full auto DI guns. piston guns however...
I don't get why .300BLK gets all this hate, it was made for a very specific purpose, for a specific weapon. no different than the FNH 5.7x28m, 6x35mm KAC, or HK 4.6x30mm.
yet people complain that it doesn't do things that it was never intended for.
the honey badger/.300BLK were intended to...
@Bullet Guy is the LGS/FFL we need, not the one we deserve.
it has been too long since i got down to the shop and bought something. I also have a friend in the market for a mossberg 590 or 590a1, i'll have to send him your way.
my HD shotgun has a neat feature where it will rack itself to warn intruders, there is a small lever on protruding from under the receiver that engages the feature that is easily operated with your index finger.
i built mine using a cmmg bolt and 16.1" barrel combo. It shoots great and hasn't given me any problems yet so i would definitely recommend it.
warning lots of text here:
i am posting this review for anyone who is on the fence about a dedicated .22lr AR or AR upper to swap onto an existing...
20% off of everything on LMT's website with code "LABOR" orders over $100 are eligible for free shipping. lot's of good quality parts and correct parts for clone builds.
Grease on something like a trailer hitch is being exposed to much different conditions than lubricant used in a rifle. not to mention the acceptable levels of wear/damage to the bearing surfaces on a 5th wheel are much more forgiving than that of a rifle. also, if you have ever seen how...
that is exactly what they are meant to do, i'm not sure if the threads for the tube are in line with the bore axis, part of me hopes not because getting proper sight alignment would be a chore with the cheek weld being that high on an AK.
I'm looking to dive into the world of commie rifles, and i want to assemble a rifle based on the Sharps MB-47 receiver. atlantic firearms sells them as a DIY kit (basically a barreled receiver that you populate with your own parts). see the link below, my question is could this be transferred...
it's like an 18650, yea you aren't getting 6 volts like you would from 2 CR123 batteries, but even surefire cr123 batteries don't last very long. the light doesn't need the full 6 volts to run. 16650 batteries put out 4.2 volts at full charge and they last way longer than normal CR123...
hmm...i have one that i function tested with dummy rounds, haven't got to do a live fire test with it yet, i will be sure to keep an eye out for the issue.
bump
price is now $500 per receiver because: incoming AWB2k18
JK the price is still the same i just want to be rid of these. will consider trade for quality tig welding supplies (filler, lanthanated tungsten, etc...)
here is a photo of the lowers. Not all of them are for sale as most have been used for builds, Including the pink one (sorry to disappoint).
FDE, Stealth Gray, and one or two of the black lowers are still available.
there are also 308 lowers in this pic, those are not for sale.
As far as MIL vs MOA is concerned, the choice is your's to make, both work, both can be very accurate. at 100 yards 1 mil = 3.6" and a moa=1" (a little over that but universally accepted as 1"). so 1/4 moa adjustments move .25" per click and .1 mil moves .36" at 100 yards. you need to decide...
i have the same trimmer, mounted it to a block of wood and i clamp it into my vise when i need to trim. another improvement i made was ditching the hand crank knob and setting it up so i can power it with a cordless screwdriver.
if i were to start over again with reloading, i would get a WFT...
i have put around 1,500-1,800 rounds of automatch through my 22lr ar that i assembled using a cmmg barrel and bolt. seems to shoot accurate, clean, no malfunctions with it yet. also runs remington thunderbolts with no problems either, (except for it being dirty), i have also run cci standard...
FTFY
lol, I bought 1 piston rifle, it was my only rifle for almost 4 years, it works fine, gives me good results, and if i wanted i could have sold it and profited 150% when the safe act passed, the rifles i have built were all built for the same price as they would have cost me to go with...
an occasionally oiled Piston AR is more reliable.
I would consider 300 yards sub MOA to be meaningful i am sure it will perform great at well over 500 yards.
Maybe nobody uses them at camp perry because they have never been issued as a service rifle so until 2016 the CMP did not allow Piston...
i have yet to see anyone present demonstrable evidence that a piston negatively impacts accuracy or repeatability. my 20" SAM-R imitation has given me consistent sub-MOA groups out to 300 yards and i Know i am not the greatest shooter.
if muzzle velocity for MK262 from a 20" barrel is 2750 FPS...
SCAR-16S and 17S, ACR, Sig Sauer MPX, CZ 805, hk 416/417, beretta ARX-100, the list goes on...plenty of new rifles with great reliability, (some that have been combat proven for a while now) not to mention systems like the M249, M60, MK48, MK46, M240.
IDK if i would declare external short...
x2 for LWRCI, they are well worth the money, not to mention you can catch their uppers on sale for 20-25% off a few times a year.
My first AR was an LWRC M6A2-SPR and that's what got me hooked on piston AR's
I have built 4 rifles using superlative arms piston kits, 2 rifle length systems on...
My sister in law is funding my brothers rifle build as a christmas gift. I have advised him to go with the tier5 MBC so it is not semi auto and therefore compliant.
My brother will be visiting friends in Louisiana for thanksgiving and asked me about flying the rifle down there.
I have never...
