Well if you have the money and the space it could still make a good one shot SHTF stash. Thanks for your input. I will no longer consider the option. One does think about owning 12,500 rounds of 5.56 ammo....
You'd never get through all that!
Just like everything else...through the doorNo fricken idea how I would get it into my apartment though.
And up two flights of narrows stairs? That drum has to weigh thousands of pounds. I'd have to get one of the hand carts what has the treads in the back. And the help of a guy whom I wouldn't mind that would hate me forever afterwards.Just like everything else...through the door
You would be fighting WWIII to go through that much!Oh, don't be so sure about that......
you got this. Doont be a quitter because the going gets toughAnd up two flights of narrows stairs? That drum has to weigh thousands of pounds. I'd have to get one of the hand carts what has the treads in the back. And the help of a guy whom I wouldn't mind that would hate me forever afterwards.

12,500 rounds is almost 2 years worth of shooting. Would’ve easy to go through a barrel of it.Well if you have the money and the space it could still make a good one shot SHTF stash.

By my rough calculations the ammo in that drum should weight about 340-350 pounds. Then whatever the drum weighs. Not that bad.And up two flights of narrows stairs? It's gotta weigh more than that.By my rough calculations the ammo in that drum should weight about 340-350 pounds. Then whatever the drum weighs. Not that bad.
I mean during a SHTF scenario.12,500 rounds is almost 2 years worth of shooting. Would’ve easy to go through a barrel of it.

Reallly? If I put that much in my home I think I'd end up killing my downstairs neighbor!then once reloaded reuse container......now that would be funny. I dont store my ammo in ammo cans...too damn small...I use 55 gallon drums...I have like 6 of em!!!!

I calculated for 62 grain instead of 55 grain. This would fit in 11 5o cal ammo cans. That's how I would get them up steps lol.

Really? Oh that's not too bad then. I mean it would still be a real bitch getting it up the stairs buts its doable. No I just need a drum filled with good ammo and not substandard reject shit.Customer care at Brownells answered:

Probably. The PLS HEMTTs are beasts. 500hp Cat diesels in those. That could work.
The diesel to get there would cost as much as the ammo you shoot.
