My biggest beef with the Lake City bulk was that everyone has been trying to get $.50 a round for it and it's only good for 4" or maybe 3" groups.
With Lake City "XM" stuff? I have never gotten good groups with it. The first quality production stuff is very good but anything that says XM are blems and the leftovers that didn't meet spec.At what distance?! 100 yards? That seems really bad. I could do 1 inch at 100 with irons.
Send me half then Mr. Money bags. Why bother for such small quantity. Better wait and buy big!
Oh no no no. Handloads I meant. I know that with commercial ammo you're not gonna get as good as with reloads but 4 inches is quite bad. The variation in charges must be all over the place. Either that or you just suck lol. With Lake City "XM" stuff? I have never gotten good groups with it. The XM855 is especially bad, I usually get 4" groups at 100 yards. I have shot it back to back with other brands and its always less accurate.
GGG makes the best M855 by far. And it's no more expensive either.
I get 1" groups with my preferred ammo, IMI 77gr OTM. The GGG M855 does better than 2MOA in my rifle.Oh no no no. Handloads I meant. I have 77 grain projectiles somewhere. Gotta see what I can get out of them.I get 1" groups with my preferred ammo, IMI 77gr OTM. The GGG M855 does better than 2MOA in my rifle.
Again LC ammo with the XM prefix are from all different lots, either blems or otherwise not quite to spec. Which is why I won't pay a premium price for it.
My rifle loves em. Most do I'd imagine. I am gradually accumulating a variety of 77gr OTMs for a comparison test when I finally get the DD scoped. I have a good stock of the IMI and I just got 200 rounds of Fiocchi.I have 77 grain projectiles somewhere. Gotta see what I can get out of them.
I think if I had 12,500 rounds, and lived somewhere that 30 rounders and drums were readily available, I'd go through it in a summer plus 1-2 months. Range fees are neglible. Ammo isn't cheap though.Well if you have the money and the space it could still make a good one shot SHTF stash.
You'd never get through all that!
