Two spikers and a couple little does running around the yard this morning; I got some video of them tussling but not sure how to post it. Otherwise... nada. Hitting it around 0630 tomorrow morning. Hoping we can hit on one of the six's I've been seeing here and there lately.

Update: Got more of a scream out if it than expected. Chasing her around the garage with it afterwards didn't help much. I'm not sure what I'll be making myself for dinner tonight.

Stalked a good little six for about 30 minutes this morning but could never get a shot.
FiL saw a big 10 point we tried to find but think he went down the hill to the creek (well off my property and toward a road with houses on it). I think the other of two that I saw a couple weeks ago- big animal.
And another six with a couple of does.
Gonna take care of some house shit and get back out early afternoon. Good feeling about today/tomorrow.

Guy I was hunting with yesterday got a nice doe. First one I saw yesterday was 560 yards out. I did not attempt the shot. Late afternoon I did get a shot at a nice doe. 187 yards. Missed. Saw a small for this morning at 332 yards. I didn't try for it. Saw 6 turkeys yesterday also.
Shot this 8pt this morning. Came in ridiculously close at 25'-30' following a doe. Ran about 50' and dropped from a double lung hit. Used the 3006 w/ a 150gr bullet.

Headed to the southern tier shortly for the weekend. Hope to be coming home heavier than I left.
I saw a very odd looking doe yesterday near Livingston Manor. Real thick neck, reddish-brown coat. Definitely no antlers. White circular spot on the neck just a little below the ears. Short snout. I let it pass hoping my hunting buddy would see it (he didn’t) but now I regret it. I don’t know if it was sick, a mutant, or maybe a small bear and I misjudged it as a deer? Really strange.
Great deer ABG. I guess the rut must be finally here. Time to get out again been a few days.'

Man, what a beautiful day here!!!! I might do a quick walk about, but pretty much taking the day off. Still a lot of corn up around here and I'm pretty certain that is where the deer are. So I'll have a couple beers and do some rough planning for this winters project(S).
