You see a bunch of does passing through hang on, the bucks will soon follow. They hang back and use the does as a bellwether. It might be ten minutes but if the does don't alert to something, they will follow.

it was a hunting/working day today.
22 degrees in the morning. sat 5 hours in cold and light snow. no deer sighting.
i even attended a virtual meeting while hunting, annual mandatory sexual harassment. very productive. lol
came back attended more meetings.
went back for another 2 hours in the evening. no deer sighting.
i need new spot and/or new strategy.
4 days left

I just went through the GENDA training. What a joke. They get preference over bathrooms and can use anyone they please any day of the week. If you are uncomfortable with a man/women using the wrong restroom it’s your problem and you have to use another restroom. They can use whatever one they choose.
On a more positive note I planned to take Friday off and hunt Friday and Saturday but I have a meeting until midday and my property is two hours away so that shoots Friday. Maybe hunt an hour or so at best. Saturday it’s supposed to rain and I have no cover at all. I might just ditch this weekend and stay home. Maybe Sunday not sure. This sucks I’m super kissed I missed that deer last weekend now. I also should have stayed until Sunday but I’d have had to shower in the spring fed creek at 30 degrees outside temps. Oh and I forgot a towel. I’d have needed a bobcat to pull out my turtles cock.

i am off on friday, except i have to attend a meeting mid day.
bought portable blind, that i can carry easily. should be getting it on thursday. that will leave me 2 days of hunting left in the season [season ends on saturday in pA].
new spot is 1 and half miles into the woods, not too bad. but i am already carrying 40 lbs of weight on me. this will add additional 15lbs, thats 55 lbs of carry weight. i need to find a way to shed some unnecessary weight and keep it under 40 which is manageable.

I’m a greasy Italian. Honestly it gets so bad I can’t even see. My eye lids get so greasy I can’t open them. I then rub them and my eyes burn. Also my naughty bits start feeling really gross too. I can’t take it. If the world ends I will greatly miss my Irish spring.
I have to shower daily or I feel disgusting. Twice daily in the summer. It’s not sweat or smell it skin oils.

That’s nice. I agree ditch some pounds. That’s a long walk with 55lbs of gear.
I don’t really have anywhere cleared enough for a blind. I kind of winged it this year and hunt 3-4 different areas. I do a lot of walk, stop, glass hunting. That’s when I see deer since no one hunts in my area very much. I find I need the traffic to see animals. I’ve seen 6 deer and all were scene while stalking. I saw two deer one time and 4 deer last weekend. One shot I had no clean shot the other I just missed. Totally on me. Perfect clean broadside shot standing still. The deer was in some golden rod but I still should have been able to make it sleeping.

All good man. No judgement here but I just can’t handle that. I have a hard time keeping my eyes open after a day or so. My eye kids literally stick to the top of my eye sockets if I go much longer. I even clean my eyes, face, and naughty bits with a baby wipe and I still feel disgusting.

need advise.
snowed a few inches yesterday, i went out around 2 pm. after walking a mile. i saw fresh deer tracks crossing pipeline. 2 separate deer tracks few feet apart in same direction, moving from NW to SW direction.
i am guessing by the amount (or lack ) of snow accumulation on the tracks in itself, it could be less than 20-30 minutes, as it was still snowing.
they were moving from one thick brush/pine tree area of forest to another. i did not follow those tracks. i left the area to return another day..
is it wise to follow those tracks into the woods or just wait for them to return, or come back another day to wait on them? what would have been the correct thing to do?

Hard to say. Could you walk up to that second brush pile quietly. If so what’s the terrain like? Would you have a shot? Could you glass into that brush like and see if deer were there? Could you flank it and see if they just passed through and maybe aren’t even in that brush pile.
I’m not disagreeing with returning another day but are you sure they make this route daily? If not another set of deer might follow. Right now they are hunkering down and moving from brush pile to brush pile seeking cover.
I’m no expert but I have been doing a bunch of research and this is what I’ve found so I’m just regurgitating info I read on line.

without entering, i could see less than 20 yards inside and it is a dense brushy area, with deer trails, i would have to sometimes crawl on knees to track them. i measured in google maps, that would stretch approximately .6 mile to the next unpaved road [measured in a straight line]. there is also a small lake in between.
i did not get a chance to scout/explore the area before, so a bit hesitant to follow, without knowing whats below that snow, it was not a flat terrain just a 100 feet up/down. not too bad.
i have no idea if they make this route daily or not. had absolutely had no time to scout anything as i have moved into new house only 3 weeks ago.
i am optimistic about next season for sure. so many options. i can simply open my bedroom door and harest one if i have a doe tag
