To keep it simple, this is about the 2A side showing unity... Boosting moral.
And letting the Virginia Government know that the citizens are not going to be
steamrolled with tyranny "without a price to be paid."
That's my take on it anyway... This just rolling over for tyranny has to stop somewhere.

Not trying to be a dick here. I’m really trying to understand. Perhaps there is something I’m not seeing but how is standing somewhere with a sign going to prevent politicians from steamrolling legislature? It’s never prevented politicians in other states. Never. Not once. I mean other than taking up arms in a real manner rather than in a symbolic gesture, there is no stopping politicians.

It demonstrates solidarity behind the cause. It demonstrates to the world that there is more than just six or seven white supremist hill billys who oppose the law. It demonstrates that there are large numbers of people who are not being represented by their ""owners"" It demonstrates that any attempt at confiscation could be met with severe blow back.
Will it stop them? Probably not. But hopefully they can see that kicking that hornets nest may not be a good idea after all. Hopefully.

The whole fight for the 2A is a bit of a sticky wicket. If you fight violently it’s just going to “prove” that 2A supporters are violent and guns are bad. If you don’t fight violently, they’re just going to keep pushing legislation.
I’m not really sure what the answer is but I hope they get a big turnout at their rally. At least if it ever comes to violence they can’t act surprised; they’ll have been warned.

Now that plans are being made I am excited about going to Richmond. After the Holidays I will be counting the days.
I have been thinking about afterward. Going to South Carolina to visit my family members.
I will already be halfway there as it is and have the time. So I might as well.
I'm not going to want to come back home though.
At least not until springtime anyway... LOL
Maybe on the way back stop and visit the Museum of the Confederacy again.

Jan 20 is the one day a year that the politicians are onsite to be available to their constituants.
The VCDL ( Virginia Citizens Defense League ) is organizing the rally. Upper management and lobbyists will speak to the politicians, VCDL members and out of state supporters will be outside showing support.
They seem to be asking that you show up in tactical gear ( plate carriers, helmets etc) with ARs slung and open carrying sidearms.
I"m not a big fan of this but their thought is that jeans and tshirts didn't do squat in the past and the MSM is going to spin them as armed whackos regardless.
The VCDL has received 3000 new members since announcing the rally . Many are out of state supporters but the money will go to help all of us, regardless of what state we're in.

My suggestion to anyone heading down armed would be to skirt around Md. Md. SP will be watching for NY and Pa plates heading South on the 19th and North on the 21st and they’ll be fishing for illegal weapons. I’m sure most of you have thought of this but figured I’d post just in case

Personally, I would prefer a commander that does not equivocate and responds to an unlawful order with a robust No Sir! If relieved, his men would know, and know why.I spoke with a retired Colonel today, I asked him about the situation in VA. And If the commander of the guard would refuse an unlawful order.
He said it could be done that way, but what he would do is to make his men ring the door bell , and say you don't have any weapons here do you? Ok have a nice day, This way he and his men would not be refusing an order, Just not do it so well .

Yeah, that was an issue in Virginia just like here in NY.
Part of the problem here in NY is that people do not think that their vote will make a difference so they do not bother.
I have come close to doing that once myself... The wife said I can't believe you're not going to vote today.
That gave me an attitude adjustment and I went to the polling station.
In Virginia's case. There are districts that did not even field any GOP candidates. And of course voter apathy also.

The wife had no problem with me going to both of the Albany rallies. But she is not liking the idea of me going to this one... I get it... But once again, it is what it is.

The money and the population in the Northern Virginia suburbs (referred to as "NOVA" in the regional forums) are their five boroughs.
Their Leftist governor (who, by the way, admitted to being in a picture where he either wore blackface or dressed as a klansman) will sign whatever "common sense gun control" measures come through his legislature. The Democrats in Virginia are getting used to the money from Mike "no-soda-for-you" Bloomberg that is used to push their causes and get them elected.
Virginia cities and counties adopting 2A sanctuary resolutions is no different than the majority of NY state adopting resolutions opposing the unSAFE Act. It may feel good. It may look good on a map. After these laws pass in Virginia, you simply won't see full-featured MSRs with standard capacity magazines at ranges in the Northern Virginia suburbs. The Democrats will have the Presidency again at some point. They have already hinted at increasing
the number of justices if need be to stack the court in their favor.
