I was born and raised in rural South Carolina. I'm telling you guys, rural southerners are a little different.

I am lucky that everything falls into place so that I can go. I have a flexible work schedule so that helps a lot.
My concern is if a state like Virginia falls. The Democrats will use the same model in other states and they will fall

The votes on the bills are expected to pass. These bills are expected to be signed into law. Regardless of the pushback... Governor Northam couldn't back down even if he wanted to. He ultimately is not the one that is actually in charge. He is bought and paid for. He is just a puppet, a figurehead. So yeah, this will go the way that you and some others want it to,
I expect.

From what I understand the problem is going to be the enforcement part of it.
If the local LE do not enforce these unconstitutional laws that are most likely coming up. It will be up to the Virginia State Police. There are only 2,100 VSP and special agents that have the power of arrest at this point. That's why the Virginia state government is floating the idea of using the VaNG to help with enforcing these laws.

I get your strategy and I do agree with it to some extent. The problem for me is the fact that I just do not trust the courts. But on the flip side. President Trump is doing a very good job on that front... So there's always that to consider.

On a side note: The fact that Gov. Northam said that he will be changing from confiscating to grandfathering
in the "so-called" assault weapons. Is not to be considered to be backing down. It's just a ploy that was pre-designed so it appears that they are willing to compromise... But you all probably knew that... Just sayin'

Recent history shows that your assessment is correct. And you may very well be spot on as Virginia is concerned.
To sort of play devil's advocate for a moment...... Virginia has just "recently" turned blue. The Democrats do not have a complete stranglehold on Virginia like they do NY. It's only a margin of 2 in Virginia's statehouse IIRC.

What I am getting at is if the local Virginia LE keeps their word for the next little while. Maybe this can be
defeated in the next round of elections. If this doesn't cure any Virginians of voter apathy I do not know what will.
But for now, the pro 2A citizens of Virginia and LE must hold the line.

If the Virginia laws are defeated now, or are passed now and repealed in 2 years after a resounding backlash in their state house in the next election cycle, Constitutional Americans will be emboldened. The Left fears this. The Leftist Progressives believe that they are on a roll and will not cede their perceived momentum. Bloomberg will massively increase his fiscal support for Virginia Democrats who support anti-2A initiatives. His PACs will primary waffling Democrats from their hard Left.

In the end, Virginians will have to fix Virginia. If they cannot do so, a large nail will have been put in the coffin of the Second Amendment.

Perhaps, if these laws stand for too long, Virginians will call for a partitioning of Virginia in a similar way that West Virginia left Virginia to avoid secession. This time, "South Virginia" would be trying to remain part of a constitutional republic and separate itself from the tyranny of Northern Virginia.

Tazewell County is taking this threat to the Second Amendment very seriously. Not only did they pass a Second Amendment Sanctuary resolution, but they’ve also officially begun to form a militia. Law Enforcement Today reports:

Just this past Tuesday, on December 10th, the Board of Supervisors from Tazewell County passed two different resolutions in light of controversy circling those who are pro-gun. The first resolution declared the county to be a second amendment sanctuary. This is not at all surprising to see, as 76 out of 95 counties, 9 out of 38 independent cities, and 13 towns have adopted second amendment sanctuary resolutions.
The second item on the agenda was the proposition of establishing a militia in the county. When both of the resolutions passed, the crowd cheered loudly in support of the decisions. Also, the resolutions didn’t exactly pass by a small margin; the votes were unanimous, with more than 200 citizens standing by in support. (source)

Thus, if anyone from the state tries to remove the Sheriff from their elected office because they refuse to enforce unjust laws, those state officials will be faced with a lawful militia composed of citizens within the state. (source)

Obviously, this is not a coincidence. They predicted how rural Virginians would respond to their gun-grabbing shenanigans. The plan all along was to confiscate guns and turn any organized resistance into a felony.

As to VCDL's statement...Long guns are perfectly easy to carry (but not use or deploy necessarily) in a crowd. What do you think a sling is for? If you may lawfully carry it there (seems to be that requires a VA CCL), DO IT. You're past the point where image matters, this is going to get spun exactly how you think it is regardless of the visual that you present. You may also want to consider the possibility of paid actors and elevated vantage points. Watch your six, because the VSP isn't going to.
