Every method of carry has drawbacks. Waist carry isn’t as fast for a vehicle. Ankle and shoulder are faster for vehicles but not as fast when standing up.
You've mentioned this a lot. It is NOT generally correct at all I think. I think for a good portion of older obese gentleman :cough: nygunforum, it may be true I guess, but if you're healthy and have no overhanging fat laying over your belt, appendix is very quick and king. I can pull out a handgun MUCH MUCH faster with a seat belt on appendix carrying while sitting in a vehicle over any ankle holster no doubt at all. In fact, it wouldn't even be comparable how much faster I could draw. Also, if your shoulder holster is set up for right handed draw where the gun is stationed on the left side underneath a layer of clothing like a jacket, I would bet my life savings that I too would draw MUCH MUCH faster than one of those set ups as well.
Some of you guys need to get in better shape and lose some weight if you want an advantage while drawing in self defense. I'm not trying to be mean, but some of you guys get caught up in what's easiest for you because you have to compensate for health reasons or personal comfort. I mention this because while sitting down, my IWB appendix carry is not altered to any degree in draw speed. While driving, the bottom of the seat belt rides on my waist and doesn't impede the handling or grip of the firearm. I mostly ride motorcycles though, and even with a motorcycle jacket, there is NO way outside of an OWB lockless kydex on the hip is going to be a faster draw on a motorcycle.
