300 blackout for deer?

We discussed killing power extensively and we came up with what we believe is a more simple and accurate system to rank
lethality for each game species. It is up to the hunter to find the appropriate bullet and match bullets designs and weight
to the intended type of game and weight of the animal. Needless to say that does nothing w/o good conservation efforts as well as
tracking and marksman skills.

Ammo Killing Power ...sorry not sure what happened to some of the pictures.

The amount of time and work to collect the data, test the loads, hunt with them is monumental yet sometimes overshadowed
by internet and latest sensation fashions.


I can see the interwebz headlines: Man kills cape buffalo with a 25 ACP!! lol

Well today I finally got out to sight in the Saiga and sadly it didnt shoot as nicely as I was hoping.

And not enough time or extra cash sitting around to convert my 300blk over to either 6.5 or 6.8 (still haven't decided yet)

So looks like I will be taking out my Swiss k-31 once again. The good news is this is the same rifle that I dropped the one and only deer I've seen since starting to hunt

The stick was actually really decent, but the 6-8inch groups at 100yards not so much

Yeah. No bueno. I got a little better than that with a 9mm AR at that distance.

Sell it to SteyrAug.

Yeah I dont get why either. I'm not an amazing shot but I was able to get 1.25-1.5 inch groups at 50 yards (red dot) but once I took it out to 100 it was just so wild, the random steel case was doing about 8 or 9inch (3 or 4 groups) and the the two 5 round groups I did with the hunting ammo was at best 6inch. Took it back to the 50 yard and it opened up to about 2.5 inch but still not how I thought 100yrds would be
