ON Tuesday New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio told reporters he would not bring in the National Guard to protect the people and businesses of New York City.
The insurrection act was unconstitutional in 1807 and it is unconstitutional today. Its up to the people to protect themselves and their property.
Military for policing, no.I guess time will tell and we will maybe see what’s planned or not.
Again the military is not to or for policing on USA soil. Even if there are threats or a larger picture here that’s what the federal police force is for. military operates on foreign soil.
How is it unconstitutional ?The insurrection act was unconstitutional in 1807 and it is unconstitutional today. Its up to the people to protect themselves and their property. Love how government carves out exemptions to the rules when ever the hell it suits them.
How is it unconstitutional ?
Posse comitatus is just a law, it's not part of the constitution.
and NY moved it from the NY Constitutions to the Civil Rights Law . and how has that worked ..
Yep. We weren’t supposed to have standing armies at all. No National Guard either. It was always supposed to be state militias. Volunteers made up of the people themselves.Does everyone forget what the second amendment says?
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
Framer wanted the military to be controlled by the people. Volunteers called to service, the misuse of standing armies was a concern to the framers. Standing army should never be armed on US soil. Hence state militias under governors (the peoples) direction. You can read the federalist and anti federalist papers its well documented.
To have Posse Comitatus and then the insurrection act of 1807 goes to show how fast politicians started tossing the constitution aside. its not a complex document and if applied as intended makes allot of sense.
It suppose to take an act of congress not the whim of a president.
is this directed at me?
in a way ,, NY has fked us .. where is the NY militia ??? heaven forbid we make one .. but that isisburger is a-okay ..
The 2A guarantees the rights of the Militia, but the constitution specifically also authorizes an Army and Navy and makes clear that they are separate and distinct from the militia.Does everyone forget what the second amendment says?

And to go even further as far as law enforcement goes, police weren’t even supposed to exist state according to many state constitutions. It was supposed to be an Elected Sheriff and his deputies so that the people themselves can elect and control law enforcement.
The sad thing is that over years the government got to big, threw the constitution aside and did what they wanted anyway . Now people just accept it because it’s always been like that for them.
Now they accept federal police and federal armies, National Guards, and all unconstitutional laws that are currently enforced.
We should really apologize to Great Britain. We created a government that started out good and turned it worse than Great Britain themselves.
The Congress shall have Power To ...raise and support Armies, but no Appropriation of Money to that Use shall be for a longer Term than two Years....The 2A guarantees the rights of the Militia, but the constitution specifically also authorizes an Army and Navy and makes clear that they are separate and distinct from the militia.
That was the intention. The Congress shall have Power To ...raise and support Armies, but no Appropriation of Money to that Use shall be for a longer Term than two Years....
This was in case of wars abroad or if needed for when under attack. Not as a permanent solution to keep waging war abroad. After the war, it was supposed to be disbanded and the militias were for home defense.
A real American President, who deployed the real American Army, on American soil. Sounds pretty un-American to meWith Respect The UN troops can't lick the boots of the 82nd. And remember this A real American President. His Name is TRUMP.
Better to let the cities burn actually. At least until the mayors or governors beg for help.A real American President, who deployed the real American Army, on American soil. Sounds pretty un-American to me
If that’s the case that’s fine. I had no idea their mission plan/statement was to protect Washington DC. I thought all military was foreign except the guard.Agreed, But one of the mission statements for the 82nd is the protection of Washington DC. Against enemy's foreign and domestic.
Us pee,ons are in the dark, We have very little access to information. We don't really even know what happened there in the last two nights , I know the guard shack was burnt down near the white house, and the president had to go to his bunker. There was some kind of threat to the president .
I know rioters attempted to storm the Whitehouse several times . Give the secret service a little credit here, there may have been some shit going down.
only Fox and CNN at about 10:?? pm Tuesday night. MSNBC came in 5x5anybody news stations scrambled?
Absolutely agree Spat!!Military for policing, no.
For defending federal military facilities, yes.
Try looting at the pentagon, don't expect them to call DC's finest for backup.
The white house is a military facility
They shouldn’t be there sorry. Military shouldn’t operate on USA soil.
Its happening in Texas too.It is funny how none of these groups threaten any well armed areas.
I haven't heard of a violent protest in Texas.
