9 or 45?

I have both and I like to shoot both. I edc only the 9. 45 is my bedside gun. I've really been thinking about dumping all my 45 pistols and stuff and replacing it with another 9 pistol.
Thoughts?

I love my 45's but I also love to standardize so that's a hard call. I say you meet in the middle and get all 357sig's. All kidding aside a little diversity always helps when there is shortages. One month you will be able to find 45 and not 9 and vise versa. This point can be meaningless if you have a big enough stockpile of one caliber.

I only carry 9mm, but my .45 gets shot a lot because it is so easy to reload for. When reloading, the difference in price is negligible if you are loading basic rounds just for fun shooting.

I'll probably pick up another .45 one day (maybe two, who knows lol). I wouldn't mind having one as an option for concealed carry. Probably a Glock or a Springfield.

I guess I think of the practicality of all mags are interchangeable with every pistol. I keep spare mags (9&45) distributed around the house and in my car. I would rather not make a mistake of grabbing the wrong one in a stressful situation. Maybe I'm overthinking/overreacting to the shit that is going on

Ive got both, a Ruger SR1911 lightweight Comander in 45 and a G20 in 10mm.
The Ruger is smooth as silk, stays on target very easily and is a joy to shoot.
The G20 has a much snappier recoil, needs more care to keep on target and is a joy to shoot.
Its like the difference between a BMW M5 and a '71 Hemi 'Cuda.

Dude, just keep your hangun in the room with you and a long gun under the bed, I don't think you need to have mags stashed everywhere. Even so just keep the one set of mags out and store the others un the safe or closet or whatever.

Platform and Caliber consolidation is a good thing.
If you reload you can have your main one yet have the means to shoot other casings that shoot the same bullets.
All might take is a couple of add-on barrels so you can keep your pistols and mags cross compatible.
Not as fashionable appealing but practical.

Im the same. I carry 9mm (g19 or 43), and mostly practice with 9mm. But my bedside is a 45 (g21).

I debated selling the 45 to fund a g34, but i do like having a few different calibers so i decided against it. I do like caliber consolidation, but i dmt get too crazy. I still meed to add a 357 to my stable and ill be well rounded out. I haveno interest in .40cal though.
