Well aware of the backdoor registration and that’s why I refuse to participate.
What I’m saying is if they pass this one background check per year thing it will largely solve that issue. By this I mean I get the background check for my 9mm since my pistol is on my permit then I buy all the ammo for the other guns I own that are t registered with the state

I'll compromise, though.
I'll take the solution offered by the appeals court in Maryland for firearms, and a similar one for ammo.

The problem is that the FFL MUST keep a record of all ammo sales with all the information that is used on the ammunition background check. That record can be looked at by the State police anytime they feel like checking on the FFL simply because they can check for compliance on every aspect of the business for whatever reason.

As it stands today but if there is only one ammo background check required yearly as this new bill proposes that could go away and it could be tracked/recorded only once potentially. I know what’s occurring now and what the current law says. I was simply saying hypothetically this new law proposed could appease some folks and I’d even say most folks.

Massachusetts FID (Fire Arm ID card) is required for any qualifying individual citizen resident in the state of Masshole age 15 or older to purchase, possess or transport non-large-capacity rifles, shotguns or ammunition. A separate LTC (license to carry) permit is required for handgun purchase or carry and any large capacity handgun, rifle or shotgun. Each is good for 6 years and costs $100.00.

There wasn't any compromise from down State Legislators that passed this irrespective of the Opposition from the rest of the State.
Scott Gray IS pro-gun, and IS smart enough to know that something in our favor is better than the nothing but fucking over that we got.
I do know for a fact that he consulted with the FFL's in his District as to what is going on, the problems, and issues surrounding both the Ammo Check and the State becoming the middleman for NICS Checks.
I do not know if he's an NRA Member, either way that shouldn't be a factor...I'll ask him the next time I see him.
Which is but one of the 31 reason why Dealers are throwing in the Towel, and when the Box Stores get tired of tying up their associates and management (ALL users of the State's system have to be registered, trained, certified, and accountable) for ammunition that they make a paltry return on, will also quit selling ammunition (and likely guns as well) then we're really going to be fucked, you WILL have to travel or make special (expensive) arrangements...
