I presume you meant "gone" and not "gun"?I was in Walmart in Fishkill the other day and their guns and ammo counter was gun, as were their guns and ammo.
Thanks. I corrected it.I presume you meant "gone" and not "gun"?
Fuck WM, but I can't blame them for getting out of the business...Last time I bought a gun there was four or five years ago and only reason was it was on clearance: the cluster fuck involving three different people to process, package, verify, and escort me out were neither cost or time effective.
I’ve never bought anything gun related from Walmart.I presume you meant "gone" and not "gun"?

They used to have amazing prices on 12g Win target load cases.I’ve never bought anything gun related from Walmart.
The one by me never had it. They then put in a new one that did but it was routinely out of stock. I’m not saying I would just never did. They used to have amazing prices on 12g Win target load cases.
Let me ask this. Anyone Fly with ammo purchased outside the state back to New Yorkistan???
I will have to check but I thought you could fly with ammo in your luggage but has to be in the original packaging and what not. Will double check that... but has anyone traveled recenting with ammo purchased from another state back to here??
Need to Look into going to GA in a bit an maybe do that for what little I need. hunting S/G slugs for now...or maybe just mail back to myself from There to Here???
Anyone have any suggestions or what not on the "right" way to do this?!
or maybe now no "right" way......
I used to buy the 100 round pack of shotshell to use at Trap practice for ~$21. and the last time, they had a Mossberg 500 in ,410 priced at less than one of the Turkish guns was going to cost, but that was three or four years ago and since the covid shit, I haven't bothered going in there and haven't missed it in the slightest. They used to have amazing prices on 12g Win target load cases.
I think they are up to $24 or $25 now, when they have it in stock.I used to buy the 100 round pack of shotshell to use at Trap practice for ~$21

Loved running the Winchester White Box stuff in 7.5 for trap shooting. Cycled good and didn't leave as much residue as the Federal stuff did.
But unless I check out a Walmart in PA, I probably won't be shooting trap for a while.
Yeah, I know. But there are circumstances that prevent me from getting into reloading at this time.just say'nDONE - Shotshell reloader
MEC 650 progressive shotgun shell reloader set up for 12Ga. Countless wads and hulls, about 300 primers. $100.00, OBO. Robinnygunforum.com

Consult IATA manual for exact limitations, but generally speaking you can transport ammunition in its Factory packaging (provided it's fully intact) or in hard plastic Boxes designed for cartridges without any problems. I would fly South with a hundred rounds of 10mm in MTM boxes with locking tabs: TSA never gave it a second look. Magazines must be empty as well...biggest thing is making sure nothing is loose, rolling around, or unsecure. Put your pistol in a hard case with a appropriate lock, tell the Clerk at the Airline Counter you have a Firearm to declare, they'll give you a Tag to fill out, and TSA will examine to make sure it's good-to-go, and in the case of New York they MAY call over PD to verify your Handgun Licenses and the Pistol's registration to your Licenses. When you arrive, a Baggage Handler will have the Bag which the gun was transported and require identification before he surrenders it to you., so do make sure it's tagged right. (Wife's bag had my pistol in it and they wouldn't give it to me, she had to show her ID even though I signed the declaration)Let me ask this. This is a receipt from the last time I bought ammo at Walmart. Not sure of the exact date, but it had to be about 2 years ago.I used to buy the 100 round pack of shotshell to use at Trap practice for ~$21. and the last time, they had a Mossberg 500 in ,410 priced at less than one of the Turkish guns was going to cost, but that was three or four years ago and since the covid shit, I haven't bothered going in there and haven't missed it in the slightest.
Yes and I told the lady checking my bags I bought it in Texas. No tsa check last couple times so why would they care. I kept it in original packing like you said per regs and I think you’re allowed 11 lbs of small arms cartridges but might be different by airline. It’s all spelled out on the airline and tsa web site. Delta was word for word with tsa but others might be differentLet me ask this. I’m not sure tsa is checking anymore. Last two times I flew they didn’t. Someone else on here reported the same and I think it was Vietnamesravet so I trust it.Consult IATA manual for exact limitations, but generally speaking you can transport ammunition in its Factory packaging (provided it's fully intact) or in hard plastic Boxes designed for cartridges without any problems. Returning: No one is going to check anything other than the Airline handing off your bag back to you, which is OK considering the Baggage Pirates that'll take off with peoples luggage...Bring back all you can!
Other thing you can do while out of State: Anyone can set up a FedEx or UPS Account, it's easy enough to get Factory overpack boxes, print a label from you to you and hand it off to a Driver...If I'm transporting a vehicle back to NY, you can damn well bet it isn't coming back empty.
For ammo only, no big deal. Travelling with a firearm will get a TSA check, process, etc.I’m not sure tsa is checking anymore. Last two times I flew they didn’t. Someone else on here reported the same and I think it was Vietnamesravet so I trust it.
I would mail it home to myself. Can't use USPS either. Has to be ORM-D.Let me ask this. Anyone Fly with ammo purchased outside the state back to New Yorkistan???

Nope. Both in Buffalo an Austin airport baggage check lady handed me a pink tag to sign saying it was unloaded and I put it in my bag with the gun in the locked case. Never spoke to tsa until it was security check point. For ammo only, no big deal. Travelling with a firearm will get a TSA check, process, etc.

Its been a 5 or 6 years since I've flown with ammo, but I always used to carry mine in the MTM plastic cases and never had any trouble.

Last time I flew it was out of a very small regional airport: early morning, first thing I do is tell the Ticket Agent "I need a Firearms Declaration" She takes our Bags and I figured they'd changed things around, so I handed them over....ten minutes later a TSA Agent is asking "Do you know you have a Firearm in your Luggage?" Yes, First thing I did was state that I had one and needed a Firearms Declaration...checked with the Agent, and she admitted to forgetting about it. TSA agent to me: "Well we'll let it go this time, but you have to declare you have a gun." ...OKI’m not sure tsa is checking anymore. Last two times I flew they didn’t. Shows you how often I ship ammo. LOL. Haven't had any delivered in years either. Reloading press go Brrrrrrrr.......ORM-D hasn’t existed in over 3 years. No longer in use. Small arms ammunition gets shipped with a HazMat label.
(have they instituted a BGC for powder yet?)

I've shopped Wally World ammo in PA, VA, OH, WV and NC for the Win trap 12 gauge, zero bullshit. The administrative crap is a NY thing. In days of old at end of hunting season there were bargains galore on 3" hunting loads, but none in NY......They used to have amazing prices on 12g Win target load cases.
That diamond is the hazmat identification. Prior to that all that was needed on the pkg. of ammo being shipped was the ORM-D declaration. One could just hand write it on the pkg.beg to differ ..
the diamond is still on UPS site on how to ship .. and what you can ship ..
