In PA, we do not ask for ID when buying ammo except if you look under age. You have to be 18 and older to buy long gun ammo and 21 and older to buy hand gun ammo. You can buy hand gun ammo if you are in the ages of 18-20 if you are using it in a long gun. Also, you cannot be a prohibited person.

MikeinCNY, that is slightlly different than what I was told, not disputing any of it, it is NY. According to what I was told, there is a move to a new facility, new software and new employees. That is a recipe for failure. Supposedly the date is going to be delayed. I will wait to see what the letter says that is going out to FFL's. No matter how you slice this, it is not going to be good.
If my access to the federal NICs is disabled, I would like to know HOW I can do a gunshow out of state. There is so much of this that is a cluster.

This is a confusing clown show by design. Gun/ammo sellers, buyers, FFL's and all others involved, including the NYSP are being tossed into a dark hole on purpose to discourage and eventually prevent honest citizens acquisition of guns/ammo, plain & simple. No secret what the end game is here. Typical old school tactic... disarm the citizens then move on with your "plan".

Plastic straws
Non “green” appliances
Untaxed cigarettes
Other items sold tax free in other states
Deposit free drink containers
Other stuff I don’t recall, or about to be outlawed, restricted, or otherwise taxed to death

That, along with new car sales to be EV's only here in NY at some point in time. When you need to plug in your over priced EV, electricity needs to be generated to charge the battery (if the battery doesn't catch fire destroying the car and the garage and house). Wind and solar isn't going to cut it so coal, NG, or nuke would needed to generate the electricity. Albany can't be that fucking stupid, so chatty kathy and some of the others must have healthy $investments$ in the batteries and or cars. It's gotta be a follow the money thing?

So now it will cost me more to buy a gun? $9.00 isn’t a lot but it’s something. What about the poor minorities that they claim to help and love so dearly? All this crap and these hoops will make it out of reach for many. My wife just said I’m finally ready to get my pistol permit and I said good luck. Another lady I know asked me about it and I laid out the hoops and cost of classes, fingerprints and the gun/accessories and she replied well I’d be in for $1,500 and I said yep. She said no thanks so the plan is working. Where’s the Supreme Court in all this? The second has done nothing and the supreme court has their thumbs up their asses as well. Time to act.

Since I know you're local, check with Joe's Panini Grill for the 16 hour course. I think he charges about half what others charge.
So why is a check for a Gun purchase $6.50 more for ostensibly the same information? The Dealer or Customer via a Pad has to enter the information and transmit it electronically... Since there won't be any way to talk to someone other than for technical help, what happens to those who cannot achieve an internet connection?

Because most people only purchase one gun at a time, so it would require only one check.
But people frequently purchase multiple boxes of ammunition at a time, and each one requires a check. NY is trying to fool people by making it cheaper, but in the end you'll end up paying a lot more for their co-called background check when you purchase ammo.
Then they'll start raising the prices for the ammo checks.
This is on top of the fake delays, the deliberate rejections, and other forms of oppression they will use to deny NY'ers their 2A rights. They'll have carte-blanche once they are the sole point of contact for background checks. Guaranteed.

Off the record I heard that NYSP will be arbitrarily denying any firearm purchase they view a non compliant such as AR platform firearms. So even if the feds say proceed they will still deny much like how nyc denies any firearms they don’t want you to have, even if it would be nys or nyc compliant

Weird how all my rifles are in the same calibers as my pistols. So I always only buy pistol ammo, yet it may or may not end up being used in a rifle. Oh is that 350 legend for a pistol or a rifle? Hmm we may just never know.
