I cannot tell you how many New Yorker's that come to my shop that have no clue about the ammo background check let alone the semi-auto rifle permit. Hunting season is right around the corner and you will see all of the outraged fudd hunters lose their shit when they stop at their local gun shop to buy a box of ammo and have to fill out a background check form and pay a fee. I cannot tell you how many "hunters" who tell me that no one needs a semi-auto, assault weapon or a handgun to hunt with. News flash, the vast majority of them are republicans. If you think gun owners are united, think again.

We DO know, and know how lazy and apathetic. they are, how "there guy is different..." why they refuse to vote, or say anything about owning a Gun, or why others should enjoy the same Rights and Freedoms.... "Yea, I don't give a fuck about assault rifles, can't hunt Deer with them, and they ain't going to take my Duck gun either..." Until they do.

Some of us have been known to use a different "Weapon of War" every year to Hunt Deer with!
I'm thinking the K-31 in 7.5 Swiss will be the select candidate this year.

Thanks you for this as this supports my well of gun owners just voted we’d all be fine and win elections. I don’t think that’s the case. I also don’t think the guy buying a box or two of shotgun slugs will mind the $2.50 fee or the background check. Those you speak of will likely welcome it…. As long as they get their slugs to shoot a deer with.

I hunt with my 6.8spc and rather enjoy it other than it’s heavier than my 20 gauge semi auto. If I’m sitting my rifle is with me if I’m walking my shotgun comes.

It's not the $2.50, it's the waiting...fill out computer form, submit, wait till the blue-tie-gang grants the kings permission to purchase.

Don’t EVER overlook the part of the ammo BGC that requires caliber, quantity, mfg, lot number, and remember that this info will be retained by NYS. Is it a poll tax? Is it legal? Is it an infringement? Doesn’t matter- it’s here regardless.
Another thing that’s happening already is that a lot of gun shops are either halting ammo transfers from online shippers (for the foreseeable future, til things shake out, settle down, etc) or have decided to Jo their ammo transfer fees to ridiculous prices. Everyone is nervous. This new process, and other regs (Ike video camera/recording requirements) will likely spell The End for a lot of small FFLs.

Seems like an ammo store, just ammo, would be a good investment, but then this is shithole USA and probably requires more hoops to jump through and licensing fees to pay for than the initial start-up of the business itself.
