Not a chance. Remember the state holds their license and the state can revoke it. I’m sure that the state handles the pistol licensing for NYS and you need to have NYS approval to sell pistols, same with ammo. If they fail to do background checks they will no longer be able to sell guns and ammo in NYS.

We may be losing an FFL in lower Westchester because of this BS law. He has a retail store, doesn't sell guns or ammo but only does transfers so he is not worried about guns or ammo bought online taking away from his own inventory. A friend of mine ordered ammo and tried to get it by the 12th. Unfortunately it came in on the 13th. He went to pick it up and started the background process. After the paperwork and the required info on the FFL's part, he was delayed. Still delayed as of today. The FFL told him it is too much time to deal with all this crap and takes too much of his time away from his retail business and told my friend he probably wont do transfers while this law is in effect.

This is Hoochies goal all along! We all know this has nothing to do fighting crime, if she was serious about crime, she could've made it mandatory 5 years added to whatever sentence for anyone committing a violent felony while in possession of a firearm. That would've effected only crims.

A notice was received from Albany about the loss of CDL privileges ...Had to call Albany and be on hold for an hour and a half . Talked to a person and 3 minutes later they found what was sent. for processing... Folks All they needed to do is enter the drivers license into the system ... What is that 5 seconds of typing....

I have a bus driver friend that had that happen to them 6 months ago. He got home to find the letter just after driving the bus around all day.

Luckily he works evenings, so he had all day to sort it out. Said it took him 3-4 hours of practically being shoved all over the DMV and on hold. Literally got it sorted out 2 hours before his shift started.

However, 1 guy had to wait 4 hours to buy .22 shells, 2 had to wait 24 hours to buy 6.5 Creedmore and .308 shells, and 2 are still waiting, since Friday. to be able to purchase ammunition after buying rifles.

Now they can just claim a backed up system and the inability to process in a timely manner .. No need for a law ...
