That is because of the way the system is set up. I have an account with NY to enter info. No one else is supposed to use my account. I use chrome incognito to access as it is a bit less glitchy. No matter how one slices this mess, it is a cluster and illegal. I don't think the big box stores will keep selling ammo. The resources needed to sell are ridiculous. The time itakes to complete one sale is several minutes, I could normally do several sales and chit chat in the time it takes to do one.
The middle initital thing is a big box store issue. The 4473 states, "If legal name contains an initital only, record the initial followed by "IO" in quotes."
And no one sees issues with freaking Walmart employees obtaining all your information to steal your identity to buy a box of .22LR. Not snapping at you because I’m sure you do but this is ridiculous and the Supreme Court just screwed us. I refuse to do this. I have an FFL who I work with and trust and he gets my SS# but not some Walmart scum.
The bigger concern is where and how much security does this honeypot of ID theft information have. At the store level and the state database.

Here's something for ya: There IS a concern yet to be thoroughly vetted that the NYSP contracted out the BG checks to a THIRD PARTY as they certainly are not uniformed Troopers doing the job... That's right, you're submitting your demographics along with SSN# and in some cases Phone and E-mail information to/through unsecure sources.

I don't see this working with it being legal to possess in every other state. It would have to be federal that to possess ammo you need a "prescription". I don't see that happening currently. I just feel like the only way this law succeeds is if there is mass compliance. There is no way to know what ammo is sold to whom. There is no tracking like guns from conception to crime. Ammo comes in and goes out. I don't see where a check is needed unless you suspect a sting with someone new who has never set foot in your store.

This is what I am talking about. I have had enough of the bullshit this state pulls. I am living life as close to those outside NY as possible. I will have what every other free American can have and NY can fuck off. I am so glad that there is non-compliance with this. It is totally possible to not fuck over the true gun guys and gals of this state. These mom and pop establishments need to stop doing the states bidding any way that they can. I understand that it is risky but that is life.
