I have bunches of ammo I was going to shoot, but never got around to it, because other pursuits took priority. It just sits there for over 2 decades. As years go by, you accumulate more stuff, it's hard to keep it in your head what you have. Not just ammo, also mags and other gear. It's nice to see the ammo you forgot all about in its original boxes with data like bullet weights, manufacturer and so on. The older you get, the more you appreciate labeling and making notes.
BTW, people collect older ammo in its original packaging. It is also easier to sell or gift it to someone. Just my 2 cents.
