Wally world in Napanoch New York had a shelf full of 22s Last night.
Was recently in the machias outdoors store and had a good experience. Everyone including owner were very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend.
Had a fair amount of pistols in stock and had 9mm self defense available. 20rd boxes for like 25.99 if memory is correct.

Sportsman’s warehouse in Henrietta yesterday the Russian 223 was I think $.65 or so a round and brass 223 was a buck. Basically no handgun Ammo except expensive hollow point. Good amount of less common rifle rounds.
It’s amazing to me people are still paying these prices on ammo.
They had plenty of handguns for sale at reasonable prices.

Just looked...(point of reference)...Steel cased Wolf .223 is going for a little over $200 per 500 rds on Gunbroker (completed auctions). Plus $20 shipping.

From what I've seen, online stores are just starting to come down in price, but actual stores are not really budging yet. I saw thunderbolt .22s STILL going for 20 cents a round as of yesterday. Maybe I just shop at the wrong places...

Thats very high. When the peak of the ammo shortage was in full affect, a dollar a round was the going rate, which is ridiculous. Now i am finding .223 and 5.56 for .50 cents to .65 cents per round. I recently got Tulammo .223 steel cased for like $8.99 a box of 20 rounds, picked up about 20 boxes. Then i got brass cased .223 American eagle 55gr for 11.99 per 20 rds. Lastly i got like 30 boxes of .223 Hornady Blacks 62gr for $14.99 per box of 20 rds.
This is all within the past few weeks, but in Jersey and Pennsy. I am very lucky because my wife works for the American Red Cross and is constantly in different small towns each week, working blood drives. She always hits up the local gun shop, if there is own in that town, and grabs whatever ammo they will sell her. Needless to say, she is an extremely pretty blonde, and for some reason ammo limits dont apply to her, lmao. She comes home a lot, and says "honey look what i got", and i respond "thats why i married you". The best was when she purchased a rifle on her lunch break a few months ago. His and hers AR15s are a real thing in my house.

I hope that is the case, i really do. It would be nice to see the prices plummet, and tons of ammo all over. Unfortunately, i dont see ammo clogging the shelves anywhere. I have been so conditioned that ammo is scarce, i still buy whatever calibers i need when i see it. Now, its true, rifle calibers are becoming a bit more available, but most handgun calibers, be it .380 auto, 9mm, .38, .357, etc, are still tough to find.
It’s less than .50 online. .40 I think.

Speaking of 9mm, i did find online some for a decent price, but it was only 2 boxes per order or person, idk. It was $22 for a box of 50 of MAXX Tech 9 mm luger 115 gr brass cased. There was shipping too though, but i know i added some other stuff to the order, including some .223 and .22lr, so it wasnt that bad.
That said, i NEVER used MAXX Tech 9 mm, so i dont know if its any good or not. I figured at $22 per box it must be a "lower end" ammo, but i cant say till i shoot it. Would rather have some, than none.

The online stores have dropped a good bit in the past month or two. In person stores have stayed pretty steady and are just starting to drop a bit if you can find it. The problem is most people are fine with a few boxes here and there and won’t order a full case online or think you can’t order online anymore. The stores will be the last place you see a drop in NYS for these reasons.
online .223 was $1.00/ round now at $0.65/round and 9mm was $0.86-$1.00/ round now it’s at about $0.45/round from what I’m seeing.

600 rds of CCI 22 at Walmart in Wilton today, CCI clean- poly-coated lead, never used any of this before. Will it go ping or pluck on steel?
