Most definitely @CaseHardened . I've been on ebay for a long time now, so I'm no stranger to this sort of thing. I've just never wanted to try gun broker for the obvious reason of not being able to actually see and inspect the gun first hand. Some things you just need to be seeing with your own eyes in person. It sucks this had to be my first gunbroker auction win. I know a lot of people have success with it. I'm pretty sure I won't ever use it for a gun again.

He is. I've tried encouraging him to be a vendor on here. BTW, I'm still comping him for his time and help with this, but yes, he has been very helpful and accommodating.

So he will be sending the revolver back this week. Hopefully the seller follows through and refunds my money without hassel. Once I get my money back I'll be ordering an SAA through him. I probably should have just done that in the first place.

There are a ton of good sellers on GB. It sucks that you found one who was less than honest or didn’t know a frigging thing about what he was selling. I’ve purchased several pistols off of GB without any issues. I ask a TON of questions and I’ve been known on occasion to call and talk with the seller.

Well, this is the thing. I'm not assuming he knowingly sold me a broken gun. Judging from his fb page he deals with more modern stuff and took this revolver on trade. It's possible he was lied to and taken advantage of if he lacked in the knowledge of what to look for in a used revolver. That being said, the gun was misrepresented in the sale. I acknowledged to him that I should have asked specific questions but I found the auction with only hours to go so it stands to reason that any questions I would have asked him, would not have been answered in the time left on the auction. I took a chance based on the info he presented. The fault is on him for taking a gun in on trade without properly function checking it. So far he isn't giving me any guff and asked me to return the gun. Because of that, he is Ok in my book. We will see if he follows through or not.

Well, I hope he is an honorable guy and doesn’t screw you over.
Good luck and don’t give up on GB. There are some good deals on some excellent revolvers on there. You just have to keep looking and once you find something , ask the seller if he is willing to talk to you. I have never had one say no when I’ve asked.

I do as well. If he tries to screw me, I can always pursue it as a fraudulent charge through my bank or file a fraud claim through gunbroker.

Got the refund! Was looking at different clones and decided to go with a Taylor's & Co 1873 Cattleman in 357 magnum with a 5.5 inch bbl instead of the Cimarron Frontier. Both are Uberti's and it's a little more of a premium but the fit and finish on the Taylor's looks to be better than the Cimarron. Plus I've heard better things about their CS department. I briefly thought about the Smoke Wagon model but unless you go with the deluxe version, about the only thing different is the grips. For the price I didn't think it was worth it.
So it's on order through my dealer's distributor. Hopefully it will only be a couple of days before it comes in. Then the potentially lengthy wait for my amendment....ugh.

I ordered the smoke wagon in 357, 5 1/2 barrel from Taylor’s on Feb 1. Still haven’t seen it. Won’t reply to my inquiries. Was originaly told 4 weeks. That was 6 weeks ago. My first time dealing with Taylor’s. Is this typical for Them? Hope you get better answers and service than I have so far. Starting to get a little pissed at this point.

Huh...I'm taking it you ordered directly from Taylor's? I hope you get it soon and it's all you want it to be. I ordered mine from my dealer. His Website show's what his distributor has in stock more or less real time. There were a few so hopefully it comes in this week. The wait for me will most likely be for my judge to sign my amendment. I too hope the CS is better.

Yes, I ordered directly from their website, to ship to my FFL. After a week I heard nothing, so I called, said it’d be a couple weeks, on back order from Italy. Called again ar beginning of March, still on back order. Emailed Friday and again today, no response yet. Unfortunately their website doesn’t give inventory levels, or i may have ordered something else, similar.

My order came in today! Super pumped. Got to swing by and see it when I grabbed the paperwork for the clerk. I hope to drop that off tomorrow and I secretly hope that my judge has changed the way he does things and allows the clerk to add the gun to my permit and give me the coupon right then and there. My sister has the same judge as me and she added a gun that our dad gave her to her permit the day she picked her permit up and the clerk added it right then. No judge. When I added a gun mu dad gave me, a ways back, I still had to wait two weeks. Fingers crossed. Anyway, took some pics. She's a beauty! The only negative (if you want to call it that) is that it has the floating firing pin safety, so only three clicks instead of the traditional four. I have a no safety hammer on order and I also need to source a new trigger. Swapping them out I'm told will give me the old school four clicks.

Welp, got the call this morning! Amendment in and brought her on home! Cleaning the oil off and applying some Eezox for protection. I have the no safety hammer and trigger and I am just waiting on a specialty screw driver set for these types of handguns and I'll swap them out. I have definitely always wanted one of these. If ammo prices were different or if I reloaded and I wasn't already invested in .357mag I probably would have gone .45 colt. Now the search for a cross draw holster or maybe a chest rig I can use with my GP100 as well. May just take her to the range tomorrow!

Thanks for the compliments on the revolver. My only concern now is some end shake and side to side looseness with the cylinder. Thinking of getting a new bolt/sear spring, bolt and maybe
some shims to help with that. Hope to get it out to the range tomorrow evening.
