Haha no it does matter.. we are a blue state not a swing state. We aren't a state that people watch close because it could go either way.... it goes one way and has for almost 4 decades.

Honestly, I don't think NY will even be a close election (though I would be surprised if Trump doesn't do relatively better this time around). I think the only good reason in NY to vote 3rd party is if you can't, in good conscience, vote for Trump or Biden and want to vote your principle like Edteach seems to be doing. I'm not holding out for a NY swing state. I just want to pad Trump's popular vote numbers because that's more important to me than voting for a candidate whose ideals I agree with more and has no shot at all.

It would take a complete overhaul of the constitution to change the 2 party system.
Short of that all you can do is change the names of the 2 parties.
If you *did* manage to kick the Dems out and replace them with the Libertarians the people would quickly realign themselves into the same left/right groups and force the new parties back into the old molds.
If you want to change, you need to change the zeitgeist. Drag everyone in both parties toward liberty. Anything else won't make a difference.
Outlaw the Democrats and replace them with the Libertarians and you'd have Pelosi running as a Republican and Pence as a Libertarian in 2024.

In think the only way to fix this is not to have primaries at all. Do everything on Election Day. Whoever is running, runs. You get a choice of Biden, Harris, Pocahontas, Trump, Paul, Cruz, Carlson, whatever quack the libertarians want to put in their, etc.
Then afterwards the winner picks their VP.

Politicians, especially new ones with no track record say ANYTHING to get elected. Its difficult the first time, its much easier as an incumbent.

I want to send a message to the NYS demonrats because I think this is the closest a republican will ever come to winning a presidential race in NYS. Now do I think Trump will take NYS, fuck no I’m not that stupid. I think it will be closer than we have been in 50 years with the mass exodus from NYC.
I’m not 100% sure what I’ll do but in general I lean toward Trump. I’m a conservative libertarian but don’t think she’s got what it takes to has close to enough support for a major bid. Too bad as this would be a great third party year.

There is a lot more to a candidate than a platform.
I'd rather have a candidate with a mediocre platform that can deliver than one with a spectacular platform that they're guaranteed to be unable to implement.
The world I want is pretty hardcore libertarian. But I recognize that at this moment in history just slowing down the authoritarian avalanche is the best we can hope for.
