Appendix holsters - AIWB

Here is what I use most days. G-code Incog Eclipse for a Glock 26. Adjustable for both retention, and vertical position on belt. They have several versions, including for light bearing pistols, mag carriers, and double clips. They conceal well, don and doff very easily, and are about as comfortable as can be.

What works for you?

very nice, i have about 4 different ones and they all ave their pros and cons. Ill have to try these out as well.

I really like the idea of the ones with the extra magazine. But the reason for my search for a new holster is because I feel like my alien gear is too much holster for my 43, so it seems kind of silly to pick up one of those holsters. With that said I want to try one of the smaller appendix style holster and go from there.

I had a Gcode and I liked it, very nice holster. Then I ended up carrying a CZ and well They only make Gcodes for glocks or M&Ps so ended up getting a T.Rex Arms sidecar, then I got a second one for my glock

Seriously though, personal question - how in shape are you? Ive been trying aiwb but I'm about 30 pounds overweight, so its not always the most comfortable. I'm working on losing some with this as my motivation. But can heavier guys comfortably carry like this?

I'm about 5'5" 140-145lbs

I did see (and it was a while back probably a year or so) on T.rex Arms Facebook page a video a dude did showing how even he can carry appendix even though he was "overweight" I believe his solution was smaller gun, a p30sk if I remember correctly

I'm 5'6 and 185. Ive been trying with a Glock 30 and a sig p320 compact. I can do it, just not comfortably.

What holster are you using? I'm about the same amount of over weight as you and am throwing around the idea of appendix carry.

How do you like the "claw" thing on that holster. Does it help tuck the grip in or is it a gimmick?

It really does help, I tried taking it off to see and it was a huge difference

I am 5 ft 7 in and 185 pounds. I ccw appendix at 230 o'clock to 3 o'clock. It is comfortable for me.

I spent a lot of time in front of the mirror along with many holsters. For me concealing without even the slightest print is paramount. You can make your guesses on why.

What I have found is that it has to be a minimalist holster. It can't have a magazine holder attached to it. It can't have 2 clips either. It also has to have an unlimited cant. For that you need one clip. You'd be surprised at how 1 degree of cant makes the whole difference in comfort and concealment.

My holster is similar to the OP's in the first post. To get the unlimited cant, I removed the top screw on the clip. This makes the holster cant to a more comfortable position and makes the grip disappear. You have to play with it. Just remove the top screw on the clip. Because you only have one screw now, you can lower it on your waistline as well to make it more comfortable.

Because it is comfortable and super adjustable with one clip, I have even worn it on an 18 hour drive down south.

I'm 6' 210 lbs. probably 20 of it is gut fat. I only cc aiwb right around 12:30. My cc gun is either a Glock 19 or a 43 w/tlr-6. I use holsters by onyour6designs or Knightfall Customs. I made a 28 hr drive this past Jan with no discomfort at all.
I do have a Spider aiwb holster with attached mag holder for my 19 that I don't like and it's only because of my gut gets in the way of the mag. $65 and it's yours.

Ha! You are the precise size I want to be! I think on my frame 210 is a little leaner than that though.

Deep conceal in a SmartCarry at work in the 12:00 position with a PPS and I use a JM Custom Kydex AIWB holster or SmartCarry 11:00-11:30 with a M&P 9C outside of work. Wouldn't have it any other way.

Yeah, I like to AIWB at 5:30 or 6 o'clock myself.

I'm teasing Will. I personally would not call 3 o'clock AIWB, I would call it hip carry.
