So after all the math of the March Target Challenge you are probably ready to have a beer or 3. The next morning you wake up to a sea of international beer bottles in your yard and a headache. You gather them all up and take them to the range (there is no deposit on these bottles). What better way to cure a headache than with the smell of burnt gunpowder and loud noises? Make sure to clean up the broken glass before leaving the range.

Alcohol Abuse Challenge

Rules
Challenge must be completed in the same range session as it was started.
Entries must be shot and posted between 1-30 April.
Print on 8.5x11 sheet of paper (should fill full sheet)

One shot per bottle 15 shots (the NY Guns bottle is your sighter, shoot it as many times as you like).
Bottle hit (no label) - 3 points
Bottle Label hit - 5 points
Bottleneck Label hit - 10 points
Any shot that touches two bottles - minus 10 points

Choice of distance, stance and gun
Pistol 10 yards off hand
Rifle 25 yards off hand
Rifle 100 yards bench

Information required with each entry:
Picture of target with the following information (examples given):
Description of gun ( Remington 783, 38-06, 12-56x56 Simmons super spotter scope)
Distance (100 yards)
Stance or rest used (sandbag front and rear)
Load used (750 gr SHPBT, 59.5 grains H9002sc, CCI primer)
Date (32 Juvember 2317)

what you expect to be able to count while you are hung over? I was wondering if anyone would catch that you had two more shots than bottles. To be fair I figured it would have taken up till after the first weekend.

One of the nice things about my vist with family yesterday was I was able to print off a bunch of these so I can actually participate in this one. I think I will burn the last of my IMI 69gr OTMs on this.

OK here we go. Shot this with my air gun today 25yds.off hand. Hits:3 X 3 points, Label hits: 5 X 5 points, Neck label 1 X 10. Total Points: 44
Now a question for @dsdmmat . I had 3 misses that broke the wrong bottle. Are they -10 each? If so score is 14. In any event I'm having a few beers tonight.

No the two hits on one bottle will result in the lowest points between the two hits. The -10 rule is when one bullet hits two bottles. So a bottle with a neck label hit and a bottle label hit would result in only the bottle label hit getting credit for that bottle.

I missed 2 bottles (and the sight in, lol). The Ghana bottle looks like a definite 5 to me but I think the Portugal bottle could go either way? It does appear to be barely touching the label.

If Ghana and Portugal are both 5 points then it looks like my score is a 61? @dsdmmat you be the judge.

Looks close enough to me, tie goes to the runner. If the top row miss was any larger of a caliber it would have been a -10.

I count 55, one of your misses on the bottom actually hit a bottle and counts for 3 points. The miss on the top proves that it can be done with a 223 caliber rifle as well as @NYGuns 22 pistol. The 2 hits on the Slovakia bottle counts a 3 ( the lower of the two hits). So for the top row I got 26 and the bottom row I count 29. Now you are going to make me work hard to get 1st place at 100 yards.

I tried to do the 25 yard with an SKS, but the bottles start to blend together with iron sights at 25 yards. Also, it's a pretty heavy rifle for offhand precision, lol.

Yeah I am probably going to use my 10/22 for 25 yard, my 30-06 for the 100 yard, haven't decided on a pistol to try the 10 yard target yet.

I can see I will have to do all bottle neck shots to try and get/keep #1 at 100. Lol

I'll be home next week hopefully. I wanna try the AR but seeing as how I only have a red dot on it I may have to revert to the 10/22 which has a 3-9 on it. I'll give the PPQ a whirl too.
