AR Barrels without muzzle threads

Anyone know of a place that stocks these? Ideally a light/medium profile 16" with mid length gas.
Or is my best bet to find a mid 18" and have it cut and crowned?

Not really looking for a match grade but I'd rather not get a BCA or Redx either.

You may need to just get a muzzle cap pinned and welded or the threads cut off and a crown installed. It's hard to find what you want without threads.

things to avoid:
- M4 style profile barrels.
- pencil profiles (mid / socom is best)
-M4 short length gas port
-Chrome lined barrels, instead look for quality SS or nitrocarburized / melonite
-1/2" threads... 5/8 should be the standard
- a Cap is good just pinned at the joint (do not weld)
-Avoid el cheapo black hole weaponry, psa, faxon, odin, dpms, etc ...barrels

Also...
If 16" is preferred then mid lenght port but 18" with rifle port is the best balance.
stick to 8 twist for best balance. no need for 7 twist for 95% of loads.

shilen, white oak, noveske, wilson, lothar, rock, all make the best barrels. my best barrels have been krieger and bartlein. xcaliber cuts well priced barrels with 3 ratchet

there are good 1000 times proven reasons for all above. ask if you need more info.

Currently looking for a 16" barrel for my featureless build. White oak has nothing in stock and couldn't really give a time line for when they will have them again, rock river arms makes a couple of them but they are heavier.

Saw a company called hitman industries makes one but know nothing about them besides they have a dorkie name.

Yes, everyone, please avoid the PSA FN chrome lined barrels. They are terrible. I will take the hit and buy them all up for you guys.

I'm doing alright, NC is okay but I'm looking foward to finishing my degree and moving somewhere with actual mountains.

If that 16" was instock I'd order one. I'm trying to keep the weight down on this upper as its going on a SCR lower.

I'm thinking I'll try and find a midlength 18" and have it cut, crowned, and profiled. Or just a rifle 18" and have threads milled off. Not cheap but it'll look nicer than a p&w thread protector.

This isn't going to be a match rifle, if it cycles reliably, stabilizes 77gr and is at least 3moa it will be fine.
Ive had a psa bargin bin upper with ~3000 rounds of steelcase through it still shoot a 1 moa group with black hills match. I've also had to send back a

I like the 19” 1-6 twist barrel it shoots the heavy’s really well. Not too much weight either.

it doesn't matter if it is a match rifle or not.
There are reasonably priced 16" and 18" quality barrels and groups that are far superior to M4 design, short length porting, pencil stuff and other exotic variants.
a simple mid or socom profile with a modern heavy group is going to outshoot and outlast any mil spec and obviously any imitations.
bottom line the M4 style profile should have never existed in a stoner di system. The only reason the Army screwed up the balance was due to the stupid grenade launcher instead of changing the launcher itself. Civilian market should not be forced by inferior standards and fashions to settle for less.
these facts have been all well documented here and other places through the years.
The problem is finding old threads since the forums search is close to useless.
