No. I don't take orders from AR fanboys.Post one.
So because I disagree with you I'm a fanboy? I like both just fine. I just don't belive in all the misconceptions surrounding them.No. I don't take orders from AR fanboys.
Where is there space in the action? There isn't any, that's the point. Can't jam the action if it can't get in there in the first place.Who here has an AK and a ham sandwich? Pod. At your next outing, stuff a ham sandwich in your AR and see what happens. If it cycles, I'll eat crow.
What are you talking about? Pull your bolt to the rear. Lock it back. Stuff the sandwich in there and release the bolt.Where is there space in the action? There isn't any, that's the point.
Don't be dense, any action of any firearm will jam if you get debris in the chamber. What are you talking about? Pull your bolt to the rear. Lock it back. Stuff the sandwich in there and release the bolt.
Or separate the upper from the lower. Put the sandwich in between and close them up again.
Did you watch the Twinkies video?Don't be dense, any action of any firearm will jam if you get debris in the chamber.
All those AK vids the junk is behind the bolt carrier away from the chamber.
Does that make sense?
Yes, and also a year ago which is when I first saw it. And he jammed the twinkies behind the carrier.Did you watch the Twinkies video?
And when that AK bolt goes back and forth it's avoiding the Twinkies? Come on Pod!Yes, and also a year ago which is when I first saw it. And he jammed the twinkies behind the carrier.
Also some of you are completely missing the point, especially @Dayten with the AR15 twinkie video.
The point is that the AR15 is a well sealed system that keeps debris out of the action. This is why it does well on the mud test. The AK which is open not so much, though did better than many such as the M1 Garand/M1A, FAL and Cetme.
If you open an AR up and jam shit in it of course it will fail. The AK is better innsand and dust because those materials will always find a way into the action no matter how tight so the looser tolerances of the AK becomenan advantage.
My point is the AR15 is reliable, the AK is also reliable. It depends on the conditions they are in. AR15=good, AK(47,M,74)=also good. Its frustrating that people get so locked into the group think all the time.
Its clearly flinging that whole mess out of the action when it cycles, you can see it. And its obviously not getting in the chamber. And when that AK bolt goes back and forth it's avoiding the Twinkies? Come on Pod!
This Is Just Their Test. You can Be A Liberal aAnd Only Show That Suits Your Agenda.Did you watch the videos? The AK stopped working after one shot, the AR15 shot all the ammo with no stoppages, even the Vietnam era spec Colt SP-1.
If that is the case, isn't that more reliable? Its clearly flinging that whole mess out of the action when it cycles, you can see it. And its obviously not getting in the chamber.
C'mon Willy!
I have no agenda beyond dispelling a commonly held misbelief. This Is Just Their Test. You can Be A Liberal aAnd Only Show That Suits Your Agenda.
Toodles.
Well at least you admit it.I have no agenda beyond dispelling a commonly held misbelief.
Another trait liberals have is ignoring inconvenient truths.
In some instances yes, it would be. Surely you conceed that a system that keeps out foreign material in the first place is more desirable. If that is the case, isn't that more reliable?

Yeah the problem was that the Army changed to a different powder than the first M16s were designed for, and the early ones didn't have chrome lined chambers or bore and thus rusted easily. And these flaws were known about and deliberately ignored, along with the with holding of the cleaning kits, by the Army Ordinance board in a deliberate act of sabotage because the didn't like the M16 and wanted to stay with the M14. And that put soliders like you in jeopardy and got many killed. It was the Army Ordinance dept that is to blame for the M16's disastrous debut and they got shit canned for it. Tell me, were you also issued the A1? That was supposed to have successfully corrected these issue, though the stigma obviously still remains, and unfairly at that.
McNamara was certainly a controversial figure, and I certainly agree with your final statement. An assertion that sadly still holds true to this day. Politics is the soldier's true enemy. The up graded rifle I received was a good weapon, chugged a little slower on full auto but I came to believe it would not malfunction. It had the chrome lined barrel, a heavier bolt carrier group, and the forward assist. It was also heavier.
I still blame McNamara, and maybe the issues that followed his marching orders are the result of people that forgot why they were there, and had mixed loyalties, one of which wasn't the soldier on the ground.
Robin
Then why are we arguing?Yes.
I myelf prefer the AR, but I like the AK a great deal as well. My biggest beef with Kalashnikov patterns is that I liked the 5.45 versions best and the damn ATF banned the 7n6 imports!Well at least you admit it.
I have both, Ive shot both. I just prefer AK. Test all you want, thats fine.

They used to go for what $176? Still Thats not a bad deal for 1080 rounds of centerfire rifle ammo. Quick price check at my favorite seller shows the cheapest steel case 5.56 going for a little more than $200 for a 1000 rnd case. Factor in shipping and that's right in the ballpark. I'd buy a few of those if I were you.I could get 100 sealed tins of 7n6 if I wanted. NY prices ($240 or $250 ea., iirc), but I could get it.
