We all knew this was coming - Assemblyman Phil Steck submits bill that would grant the AG the power to prosecute out-of-state ammo dealers that sell to NY residents.

(C) INVESTIGATE AND PROSECUTE ANY INDIVIDUAL SELLER OF FIREARMS OR
RETAIL FIREARMS DEALER SHOULD THEY KNOWINGLY SELL AMMUNITION TO A RESI-
DENT OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK OR TO AN INDIVIDUAL WHO PURCHASES AMMUNI-
TION ON BEHALF OF A NEW YORK STATE RESIDENT WITHOUT CONTACTING THE NEW
YORK STATE POLICE FOR AUTHORIZATION PURSUANT TO SECTION TWO HUNDRED
TWENTY-EIGHT OF THIS CHAPTER AND ANY OTHER LAW, RULE OR REGULATION.
(D) SEEK AND OBTAIN INJUNCTIVE RELIEF TO PREVENT ANY INDIVIDUAL SELLER
OF FIREARMS OR RETAIL FIREARMS DEALER FROM KNOWINGLY SELLING AMMUNITION
TO A RESIDENT OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK OR TO AN INDIVIDUAL WHO PURCHASES
AMMUNITION ON BEHALF OF A NEW YORK STATE RESIDENT WITHOUT CONTACTING THE
NEW YORK STATE POLICE FOR AUTHORIZATION PURSUANT TO SECTION TWO HUNDRED
TWENTY-EIGHT OF THIS CHAPTER AND ANY OTHER LAW, RULE OR REGULATION.
3. THE ATTORNEY GENERAL SHALL HAVE THE POWER TO ENFORCE THE PROVISIONS

She can’t enforce a law that doesn’t pertain to people. I can buy ammo in any other state at anytime legally and it’s not illegal for me to return to. YS with it. This law is null and void upon signing if it occurs as long as I’m physically present in the state where the retail sales take place.

Legally, you're probably mostly correct. But, I think the same logic might apply to online sales, and they have successfully scared all the retailers away from that. So, whether or not it can be enforced, it can still have a very real impact.

I'm certainly no law expert but there's no way I'm aware of that Chubby can regulate ammo sales in another state. Butt, what she could do is make it illegal for NYS residents to bring ammo into NYS after they purchase it outside of NYS. I'm surprised Chubby or BrowHochul haven't done that yet. I expect that could be their next royal decree for NY gun owners.

They should be addressing the illegal invasion of the un-vetted illegal invaders who are here in New York illegally. But no, we get this kind of shit instead. Targeting the law abiding tax paying citizens with unconstitutional laws.

Who's side is our State Government on? They not only have the red carpet out for the illegal turd world invaders. But at the same time, they attempt to make self-defense as difficult as they can for the actual citizenry.

I have been doing some research on Ohio again. It will work, I really need to get out of New York. Banning semi-autos will be coming sooner than later IMO.

Your monthly ammo inspection is probably on the bill...........no proof that ammo you possess was paid for in nys..........BOOM.

IT IS PURE COMMUNISM...............commies cannot have guns or ammo in the hands of the "unorganized Militia."

Well Litegeous Letitia pretty much shut down inter net ammo sales with just a threat, did the same with 80% receivers, no law, not even a regulation, just the threat and our cowardly brothers in Arm's folded there money grubbing tents and said, no stuff for you!

For the first time in my life I am going to respond to the post re: prosecuting New Yorkers for buying ammo out of state; every time I read comments that state FUCH regarding our laws and then go on to say they will buy ammo in Pa. or some other state, or reloaders saying they have X amount of rounds saved up and tell the gov. to f-off, what do you expect. If you think that the NYSP does not monitor this sight then I have abridge to sell you. Gun owners are their own worst enemy.

Of course NYSP monitor this site, along with FBI, ATF and God only knows what other government entities monitor this site. And they use our tax $$ to pay government desk jockeys to do it. It's probably primarily the newbies that have the honor monitoring us abiding gun owners.

To the government monitors, especially the newbs.... you're wasting your time and our $$. Move your attention to BLM, ANTIFA, border jumpers, crooked politicians, and other people and or organizations that actually do harm to our country. That, or join a local hands on police force that actually stops the law breakers and helps prevent real criminals from operating. Do the right thing.
