Why don't people realize that government subsidies cause prices to skyrocket?
Before health insurance medical fees were reasonable, before government Grant's and scholarships College fees were a tiny fraction 9f what they are now. As soon as government funding gets involved, every unscrupulous sline ball comes out of the woodwork to feast on the pork. And most politicians don't give a fuck because they got kickbacks to collect, further bloating costs. If Berine Sanders had been president we'd all be on the streets by now.

Don't talk to me about China, the purest form of communism the world has yet seen was under mao zedong and 10s of millions starved to death as a result. Total death toll under mao was what? That's double speak for "areas where we do capitalism" and those areas support the whole damn country's economy.

Who 'bout this: of all the starving dumbass with "gender studies" ect. degrees, we grind up half of them and feed them to the remaining half. Seems fair to me.

The principal and accruing interest to be deposited in an off-shore bank of my choosing. The deposits will be in gold bullion, ammo, bang-sticks, and anything I approve of, except paper fiat money. The latter is unacceptable because it will decrease in value so quickly it will be worth less than TP at a dollar store. I could wipe my ass with it and save $$$.

HOPEFULLY there's millions that want Bernie. With approximately 120 million votes cast in the '16 presidential election, a couple or few million wouldn't even get him past the primaries. However, it might disenfranchise those socialists enough that they don't vote at all, and those lost votes would most likely be for the left.

Fine! Then I, as well as everyone else who ever dutifully paid their student debts, will have standing to sue for repayment of our debts. I've been paying my student debts for over 20 years. I want my money back (and...it IS my money since I'm one of the damn fools that's paying a ridiculous amount of taxes for other people's "entitlements").

I did not attend college to "find myself." I went to learn the requisite skills to advance to the next level of my academic career in order to proceed to my chosen career path.
I cannot recall hanging out with anyone in my college social circles that did not know what they expected to get out of college. Most of them were science and technology majors, so they expected to get into industry or research. Even those who were in "liberal arts" (like English or philosophy) expected to get into teaching. Everyone had a goal. Nobody that I personally knew was in college just to be in college.

I have a couple of friends/co-workers with liberal arts degrees, their strength is their great writing skills which require accuracy and getting to the point. The failures I know with liberal arts degrees are the mega bullshit artist who can't make a logical point or decision quickly, or just plain get to the point. They wander aimlessly in their dripping brains.

People forget, the first thing that OBummer did was nationalize all student debt. That means .GOV OWNS all student debt. Now why would proponents of big government be trying to pawn that debt off completely to taxpayers with NO financial responsibility by those who incurred it?

oh i paid off my student loan .. took many phone calls .. how much to pay it off .. will have check .. WTF .. got mom on it .. she does not put up with anything ..
.. had to get one to rebuild the car motor in December on break so i could get back to school ..
zero oil pressure at idle at stop lights .. any guesses guys ?? 72 duster 318 ..

This is an abominable idea. In part easy access to money is responsible for tuition where it is. Who is going to pay for this? 6 months in it's gone--half the federal budget for the year? This guy would never, ever get this to pass even if he were elected. It's thoroughly untenable.
I'm very opinionated on this stuff. Some things we need to address with student loans in general:
- greatly limit the amount of bullshit degrees people get; sociology, feminist dance theory, etc. If this is the only kind of degree you can get, think long and hard about whether you want/need a degree at all
- Cut it out with the private schools. Parents need to start telling their kids no far more often. Your child does not need to spend $40k/year on a degree from a private school. Stop encouraging this, and tell them no.
- further to point 1 the lending program should be rejiggered to make access to funds much harder for bullshit degrees with no ROI. If you need $100k for a masters in social work...sorry, loan denied.

Wish I could say the same. In my immediate circle one guy thought he'd get into law. The rest of us thought medicine. Oh, how that changed once we realized we could play video games and drink without any supervision. The law guy actually did get into it, stayed on the straight and narrow. My wife and all of her immediate girlfriends did the same--studied, got their degrees in four years, that's that.
But as for me and my other friends? I screwed around a good bit, though not as much as they. Some of them took five years getting their degree, then went on ultimately to careers well below their potential, and their degrees were of little actual contribution to their lives. I ended up faring well but I was very close to taking another path that wouldn't have been nearly so successful. All things considered I got lucky, but it's taught me that the "college experience" is hugely overrated. For me I came out of high school a hard, diligent worker and the lack of structure at college blew it to smithereens, taking an extremely long time to set right. My older brother followed the same track. Jerked around in college but for the grace of IT we managed to find lucrative careers we were good at. In any other day and age who knows what we'd be doing.
