BC truckers to join convoy across Canada in protest of mandatory vaccine
In protest of mandatory vaccines, BC truckers have joined a massive coordinated convoy to Ottawa.
Canadian truckers have organized a massive convoy set to roll across the country in protest of federal vaccine mandates, including the most recent which was instituted this past Saturday.
Valentim — who has been a trucker for more than 20 years — is organizing the convoy out of BC which will take off from Vancouver at 8 a.m. January 23 and travel across Canada picking up other drivers along the way. The final destination is Ottawa, where all of the respective convoys will convene.
“I’m expecting 100 trucks from the Vancouver area, and I already know we are picking up trucks in Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Hope, and all the way through,” said Valentim. His convoy will arrive in Calgary and subsequently depart east on January 24.
While this demonstration is organized by big-riggers, Valentim says it represents other professions that have been effected by mandatory injections, such as health care workers, municipal workers, and more. All professions and vehicles are welcome in the convoy.

Wegmans seems to be insulated from disruptions as pointed out in this article ......I can’t wait to go to the grocery store with my wife this week and see how bare things are. I have shit to do, but people are animals so I will not allow her to go this weekend alone.
I worked in a store bakery in my youth. All the dough is frozen and prepackaged, I'd assume from an industrial level supplier. All the "bakery" does is proof and bake the dough. 90+% of the bakery goods came like this. The only thing we used a mixer for was donuts and muffins, which came from a mix from the same supplier. Also think about it like this. Does your grocery store have an in-store bakery? If so, their ability to make bread means they are less susceptible to running out of bread. If processed industrial bakeries experience issues, your in-store bakery may not. You will pay much more, but the product will exist. The key is having knowledge of where the product exists.
I do know wegmans buys locally ... Sprouts ....are... , I believe they have their own egg farm , for example....I worked in a store bakery in my youth. I don’t think wegmans is insulated from it by any means. I’m going shopping tomorrow I’ll take some pictures, but it’s been pretty bad. My wife doesn’t panic much and gets mad at me, but she told me it’s been horrible.Wegmans seems to be insulated from disruptions as pointed out in this article ......
As we go into this phase, the ABC report was correct on where these issues will be less noticeable, less fragile. The smaller grocery outlets with closer connections to the field. The closer the grocer is to the farmer, the less fragile they are in this shortage phase. “Grocers” (traditionally defined) will do better than “supermarkets”.

On a supermarket basis, the total operational excellence comes into play now. Top shelf field-to-fork operations like Hannaford, HEB, Publix and Wegmans will fare much better than Kroger, Ahold, Giant Eagle, Albertsons, Shop Rite, Meijer, Safeway, Winn Dixie etc. You can see how the former group rely more on fresh product supply chain relationships, and the latter group are weighted heavily toward low-price highly manufactured.

Quite remarkably this ABC report on empty shelves is not far away from outlining the truth. They are still obfuscating some of the predictable reasons, and they completely ignore the vaccination mandate aspect that is going to worsen the issue, but they are nibbling the edges, nonetheless. So wegmans is full of shit. I work in the industry and I speak to many suppliers that supply wegmans.I do know wegmans buys locally ... Sprouts ....are... , I believe they have their own egg farm , for example....
Wegmans doesn’t even mix their own donuts and muffins. You are correct and this is how wegmans does itI worked in a store bakery in my youth. Found this ... If one is not in the industry it is hard to keep up... 2007So wegmans is full of shit. I work in the industry and I speak to many suppliers that supply wegmans.
They have their own organic farm that’s tiny. They have a cheese cave that’s BS, but they do not have an egg farm for what I know. They have krehers do the eggs for them. Wegmans make little to nothing on site anymore. Most of the cut veggies are done at factories, most breads are frozen and baked, hell almost all baked goods are baked from frozen state. Even pies and cakes are frozen.
They cook a lot of their own food and they cut some fresh fruits there.
As for the local farm supplies most aren’t. Just look at the tags on the produce even when in season. Very little of it is locally sourced. Most is from foreign markets because it’s cheaper. Hell even a lot of apples are from Washington state when we’re are number two in apples in the USA right here in niagara, orleans, Monroe, and one other county not far from wegmans. It’s all central distribution and whatever is cheapest these days.
The farmers I know hate working with wegmans because they say I’ll take 400 bushels a week and then they will for two weeks then say oh we don’t need it this week. They used to be good when the old man was around, but the kid is all about $$$
No worries man. I was just trying to give you the information I k in first hand.Found this ... If one is not in the industry it is hard to keep up... 2007

Wegmans Sells Controversial Egg Farm: Report
ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Wegmans Food Markets here has reportedly sold its egg farm, which had become a lightning rod for controversy over its alleged treatment of hens. The family-owned chain said increased egg market competition prompted the sale.
Wegmans had owned the farm in Wolcott, N.Y. for 40 years. The buyer, Clarence, N.Y.-based egg producer Kreher's Poultry Farms, acquired it for an undisclosed amount, according to a report in the Buffalo News.
Not "a kick".I think our leaders get a kick out of making people's lives difficult. I really do believe this.
This is sickening.
Nice. Next Republican president we should just take over Canada and do the real Canadian exchange. If you’re a lefty head north.

Apparently they weren't allowed to stop in Manitoba so the Hutterites followed them to Kenora where they set up a BBQ at the Rec Center. That's going the extra mile in compassion. Makes a person wish we had more Hutterites and less Trudeaus.
It’s called election fraud. That’s how.
