1) So before any crimes against humanity are committed Putin should have been labeled a maniacal murderer? You own guns, I assume. You may not have committed any gun related crimes to date. Some people might say you're a savvy, intelligent individual. Tomorrow you decide to go off your rocker and gun down your family. How were any of those people who called you savvy and intelligent supposed to know you were a sicko yesterday? Your scenario is the perfect narrative for the anti 2A crowd.

2) One president never had to deal with any of the sanctions because he lead the country with strength, determination and USA first resolve. None of the crazy other world leaders even tried to pull any shit during his leadership. The other president is responding to his poor, disastrous leadership with defensive actions not needed in the prior administration.

Your take on the presidencies are weak and ineffective, like Biden.

Anybody who didn't know exactly what Putin was before this obviously knew nothing about him. All with any semblance of a clue knew, years ago, precisely what Putin is. Hell, it's not like he hasn't invaded two nations within the past fifteen years. He's a thug, always has been. That's nothing new. He commits violence against political opponents and violence against sovereign nations--again, all things well documented and done before this invasion.

Actually there is another option you inadvertently allude to, which is that trump did, in fact, know putin very well, and as such knew exactly the kind of thug he is, and what this would lead to. Certainly makes one wonder why trump keeps crushing on putin, though. It's not like it's the first time he's praised the guy.

So let's not pretend what he did in the last week is any great revelation as to what he is. Anybody who is under some great epiphany in the last week about putin has not paid one lick of attention. Meanwhile trump is calling his invasion of ukraine genius and savvy. Not only is putin conducting war crimes, but it was demonstrably ungenius given that russia is about to get economically sent back into the soviet era.

1) massacring people has nothing to do with being savvy. Time will tell if it was a fuck up by putin.

2) first - the dementia patient probably couldn't recite the sanctions list himself. As for putin, this move is about his perceived need for security. In a totalitarian state he is more than willing to trade economic pain for security. He won't suffer and he won't care how much his people suffer.

I think the world reaction is more extreme than putin expected. But we'll see who wins in the long term. Hell - look at the US! We still won't stop buying oil from Russia! So much for biden's hideous and crushing sanctions. We still will provide his regime with millions of dollars every day. How on earth can this government be taken seriously? This is cowardice and hypocrisy of the highest order. How anyone can defend this buffoon is beyond me.
