Nice! Way to stay strong. We have to reject the idea that cops have to act perfect in the face of deviancy. I don’t mean ignoring criminal behavior, but little shit like this in the face of what is going on should not lead to suspensions. Otherwise our only choice is to do nothing at all.

I disagree with the mainstream view on this incident. Typical, the press and libs scream about a cop pushing a 75 year old man back. He fell backwards, and hit his head, but really, whose fault is that?
1. He is a lib activist, who was staying in the downtown Niagara Square AFTER curfew. So he is in the wrong.
2. He walked up on the cops as they were executing a line movement to sweep people from the square. So, now, - are cops going to be required to "halt" their movements anytime someone comes up to them in the performance of their duties at that moment? Are cops going to now have to halt and assess the situation before taking ANY action? Are cops now going to have to stop and ask the person in front of them for permission to advance?
This is complete and utterly insane bullshit!
If I were a cop, I, and I would hope all of my fellow officers would call in sick at 5PM on Friday, and let the liberal assholes in charge deal with the shitstorm that follows.

Very bad optics but once you think about it I tend to agree with blimey and Vietnam vet. Particularly if he is a liberal activist. The left loves symbolic victims to give their cause more sympathy than it deserves. If they stopped for this guy tomorrow there would be a line of geriatric losers challenging the police. I'm certain the cop did not intend to have him fall backwards. Do police orders to clear the area not apply to the old and frail?

I think the situation could have been handled better. The guy definitely should not have been there, but he was not a threat and could have been "assisted" by someone off the property. Preferably in cuffs.

"little shit" He may be permanently disabled or may still possibly die. One of the biggest issues with police is "professional courtesy" and they use it for their own means whether right or wrong. NO reason to shove an old man, no matter what color.

I’m not gonna comment on who I think was wrong or right. What I can say though is that in the current climate the cops involved will never get a fair shake. I think this situation is a complete loss for both parties.
They probably were trying to avoid making arrests, by order.
Cops right now are getting conflicting orders left and right from every angle. I’ve take the “don’t do anything” approach, but many still feel that they should work for their pay.
Oh well.

If anyone out there cannot understand respect and restraint for old..elderly people ..then You have no conscience or soul.
