So I'm nra life endowment member, rifle and shotgun instructor, recruiter. Also life member of GOA, SAF, NYSRPA and SCOPE.
It's all bullshit since nobody seems to GAF. All about power and control. Dont buy into the bullshit they're all after the same game... your money. That's it in a nut shell.

If you disagree with something someone says that makes them a moron?
The organization is built and scares the politicians. It would be smarter to just replace those in position of power. You wouldn't burn down a good house full of corrupt people, but you would replace them to just take over the house.

I work in an organization run by bad management but there are a lot of good people at the base of the pyramid. The NRA needs management change.

Besides, you cannot change NRA leadership. The NRA board members, like the President of the NRA, have no real power. So you let it die and build a new house.

Not for nothing but isn’t that what you are doing? What he is saying is fact. It’s fact that they are have helped in passing gun laws. It’s fact that they misuse money. It’s fact that they have tried to derail the Alan Gura and the 2nd Amendment foundation twice.

If an organization has rot at the top say a church or business . how do they handle the problem. I know a church that had some disagreements on managing the church... Someone stood up and said ... If you don't like it you can leave ... Half the folks left.. No compromise ... Today that church can hardly keep the doors open .. The folks that did a lot of work week to week took the skills with them . Does a business fold if there is rot at the top.. .. They replace the board of directors .. Like it or not the NRA is a political force ... We need that today more than ever .. If you think we have bad gun laws now destroy the NRA. The left will tear into the 2nd and destroy it and who will voice an objection. ? Going to write a letter to the editor in protest... You will never see it published ...
We know the corruption in Washington ... Without this political force Washington folks will sell gun owners out so fast ... The other side is organized .. Money. organizational skills ... Within a week of the Parkland shooting... Plans were in force to take thousands of children to Washington ... How did that evolve so quickly... The children ... Were they the planners ... No they were the puppets...

I dislike this guy and his videos. All of them. I did not watch this one. I cannot, his look, his attitude and his lispy voice makes me want to vomit.
I will agree though, the NRA needs to either go away or completely revamp itself as an organization.

My question is how would we go about burning down the NRA ourselves exactly? Beyond canceling memberships and ceasing all funding?

Pre Wayne, NRA was the only organization too develop a serious curriculum for firearms training, both for safety and handling / use. Because of practices developed by NRA and later others, accidental firearm deaths are the lowest they have ever been.
NRA has a monopoly on such things because they were the only ones to 1) develop the material, and 2) disseminate the material - to cops, youth groups, hunter safety programs, etc...
I'm not a fan of the way things have headed for the past 20 years, but NRA still has value. They have between 5 and 6 million members. Second place as far as I can tell is SAF with somewhere around 100,000 members (as per a recent interview with Alan Gottlieb). NRA is the first introduction to firearms for many people. NRA is still big into shooting sports (despite their recent best efforts to screw that up). NRA-ILA was (at least up to the last election) still able to be an influence for good.
I desperately would like to see a change at the top, but I'm not ready to write off the whole organization.

This is correct. When they passed the SAFE act, they had to make an exclusion on magazine capacity for NRA sanctioned matches.

Okay. So you get certain exemptions at NRA sanctioned events. Is that exemption that is used by less than 1 percent of gun owners worth keeping compared to corruption, greed, mismanagement. and the continual helping hand in passing anti gun legislation?
No. It is not. I would rather have an organization actually fight in trying to repeal laws where no exemption is needed if the law is struck.

That exemption eventually was extended to everyone, so everyone benefited. What to be gained by destroying the NRA, they are not preventing anyone from doing what they don't do.

1. This is not remotely "post-Wayne LaPierre" as far as NRA undermining the 2A. See the history of the GCA, among other legislation.
2. I'm not willing to write off the *membership* of the organization (unlike a bunch of infighting we've seen on this forum). The structure of the organization at this point though, is basically a poison pill for me.
Now generally- We need something else. Those 5-6 million need to feel at home somewhere. Actually I hate to sound like a statist but those 5-6 million need help with their direction.

I haven't paid my dues to the NRA since un-safe, but I am 1 of the 100,000 that does give to SAF. If SAF had the $ the NRA has we'd see the big changes we like. Pony up patriots!

Actually they did and are. They tried to prevent Alan Gura from fighting Heller. Because they are the biggest and doing nothing, other organizations hang back. Yeah. The NRA will take care of it. We don’t have the funding anyway.
If you get rid of them, another will take their reins and watch their P’s and Q’s so that they don’t get terminated as well. The NRA’s mere existence prevents another organization from taking the reins since they hold all the money.
