Sure they monitor this forum. The back ground checks is just a pain in the ass for sellers who have to stock pile ammo for sales that will take 6 months to a year to clear. They're the real target. NY state knows damn well you can legally purchase in other states or ship to for pick up. They are happy to add the inconvenience to you for political messaging. They think It plays well to their voter base who have in fact grown more in touch with the fact these gun laws don't stop criminals or their actions and in fact make good people victims.

This slow walking of authorization was birthed in Westchester county decades ago with pistol licensing. With the progression of technology, Westchester can't seem to speed up the process of the application. Thirty years ago the county sent all back ground checks to the FBI as low priority check so it took the FBI about two weeks to conduct the check. Once done, the clerks office would file the application in a six month file system. The application would sit for 5-5.5 months. That was and is the process today. Technology has somehow skipped over the clerks office. Which is still operating at 1990 efficiency level. Do I believe it can't work more efficiently? No. It is designed that way to make the process so arjuious that people decide not to go through it. Then they add go find 4 strangers for which to vouch for you on the application and speak to your character. How can anyone who doesn't know you speak about your character? This is what Westchester applicants faced. That and SELF restricting out of fear that once denied for filing for the only two legal options, Carry and Premise, refiling the application would have you check the box that you were denied before. Then an attorney would have to get involved at your expense which delayed the process for 1 to 2 years. Yeah I know someone who went through that.

So, monitor all you want. We are very aware of what nafarious characters reside in Albany. It's catching up to them. NYC is in shambles and once NYC folks have had enough, they'll push for thier own personal safety and call for their right to carry. We see it now and Albany still hasn't figured out how to deal with it. They're stuck on stupid. They have sold an idea that they will potect you and they can't deliver. People are waking up.

Imagine the black and Hispanic communities demanding the right for self protection as they have seen time and time again police and politicians fail to do so? That should be called for. It happened in Detroit. If that happens here, that genie won't be easy to put in the bottle. If the right circumstances happen, no stopping it. I get neither Pistol Permit information nor prior arrest history through NCIC

If Albany could just out right ban all possession of ammo and firearms, they would. So the idea that we are given them ideas is preposterous. It's not like they're doing us a favor with the legislation they have passed. It is all simply politically motivated for the next election cycle.

There are those that would love to just ban and collect by force all ammo and firearms but as left leaning as NY 2nd circuit is, it wouldn't stand. This is simply another hurdle thrown in front of the citizens of NY. Currently we are out numbered by low information voters. But I see what is going on in NYC as I am very close to it. My White Privileged lata drinking neighbors are very worried. Conversations of home defense very real here in Westchester. The migrant arrivals, up tick in crime and mayor Adams might be the best thing to happen to NY politics in the last 50 years.

I was stopped for a tail lamp bulb being out and the first thing the trooper did was ask if I was carrying my HK or my Glock. I was surprised that he knew that before coming up to my vehicle. I don’t have anything on my vehicle to advertise my pro gun beliefs

Get pulled over or whatever, I'm sure that once you give a state, county, or local LEO your drivers license, if the cop wants to do a little digging you're an open book. When it comes to government we no longer have privacy, regardless of what we are told.

I've cranked out a lot of ammunition over the last 40 years on Rock Chucker's, Ammo-Master (RCBS) several Lee Pro-1000's, Redding T-6, and some old-ass Lyman: Two years ago someone offered me a Dillon 550 that had been sitting in storage for obviously a very long time; I cleaned it up, ordered bits & pieces that were missing or needed replacement and I have to say that it's one of the finest Presses (certainly multiple times better than the Pro-1000) that I've ever owned, and there's been a lot of them! The 550 is one above the "Square Deal" and several below their best models. Downside is covid put them wayyy behind on orders for damn near everything, and while their stuff is "unique" you can still use most if not all of your common 7/8-14 Dies.

Last time I stopped in Dicks was to buy pellets for my ML that no one has. They said they needed ID. Told them not a chance and walked out.

Years ago I was jawboning with a friend of mine that was a police officer. he was sitting in his squad car and the conversation got around to the computer in his car and I asked him about a mutual friend of ours getting his pistol permit and why the background check takes so long. He said that he could access everything they the get on the BC right there, in a couple minutes and its' probably the judge that lets the permit applications ripen on his secretaries desk. Another friend that is a deputy told me once they can access a whole lot of background on that squad car computer. First hand, I have no knowledge, but from their comments and the fact that the state police run a lot of these things these days tells me that they have total access to just about every effing thing you have ever done and not done, including your credit score, Hah. Prove me wrong, I would like to be wrong.

I live close to the PA state line, and my son lives near Wilkes-Barre. So yes, I will be buying my ammunition in PA, or preferring it for gifts for my birthday, Christmas, and Father's Day!
