The problem I have here is this attitude of "but we're cops!" You go to the store, you follow their policies. Yes, I understand concealed is concealed, but they didn't do that, they even said:

"We were visibly identifiable as on duty law enforcement."

Who cares? The policy is the policy. Don't pull that crap. It's not the policy for the peons, and you guys do what you want.

The store has a no gun policy? Don't go there. Or go there and conceal so nobody knows. Don't pull the cop card.

Well a company that is for the public to use, I believe the po's should never have to worry bout carrying their gun. A home is a private entity for yourself and family to make laws. They can come with a gun, but no you don't get info without warrants

This has been discussed before Darth. Whether or not you personally agree their is a legal distinction between commercial property and residential property. There are requirements commercial properties are subjected to that residential properties are not. Such requirements are typically related to public safety. I say that the legal forbearance of arms is conducive to public safety and therefore supercedes the owners wishes. It is no different than fire safety or max occupancy requirements. Private residences however should be free to place whatever restrictions the owner sees fit.

For example: My office is open to my employees, or whomever else I decide to let enter. It is private property.

A business such as a store or a restaurant is open to the public. Should they be able to eject someone for good cause? Yes. Should they be able to discriminate? That depends on the laws in place, and is not so absolute. That issue is more complex and could be argued at length...

So, as I see it, if law enforcement wants to enter a business that is open to the public,- they are, in fact, a member of the public. Whether they are openly (and legally) armed or not is irrelevant.

Now,- if they show up at my business property that is not open to the public, and want to enter it (exigant circumstances such as a crime in progress, or if I called them not withstanding)- guess what? They're going to need a warrant. The same applies at my home.
