It would be nice if they were able to keep up with demand but they do allow you to back order. In my experience the wait isn't that long and well worth it.

Plenty of companies carry their lights and they’re in stock quite often. They are also a smaller company with a very high demand. It is what it is, just gotta look around and find them in stock at one of their retailers. Still doesn’t stop them from putting out a good quantity of products and they’re good quality lights too, otherwise they wouldn’t always be bought up. I’ve never had to wait that long to try and get a light and I think I have 8 of theirs now. I’ll be trying to add one more on the release of this one.

Oh fuck that. I'm not a communist, this isn't the Soviet Union. I don't wait in queues, I don't watch for product notifications or otherwise inconvenience myself in the slightest when it comes to purchasing products. If you don't have inventory when I have money for a purchase I will do business with someone else that has. Or I will do without. I don't do this whole release day frenzy shit.
Every new item has to have an initial release date no matter what. They seemed to have plenty of inventory since they’re still in stock and in stock on other dealer sites as well. So I’m sure they’ll be there later too.
Way it seems to go for me is if they have inventory I haven't the money for it, when I do, they don't.
I haven't the money ATM, or any time soon, nor am I really in the market for a weapon light right now. I'd like an MCH with this light head someday though.

True. I get it. I have a light on one of my AR's that was $80 and is amazing. I can think of so much more I can buy with that savings.

There is no $80 Streamlight that is amazing, it might be ok or kind of adequate’ish, and the price point might make it feel more “amazing” than it really is. There’s a big difference between weapon lights and handhelds. You can dive deep into weird light forums and there are diy’rs that can make crazy performing handhelds but I’d still personally spend the money on a quality performing handheld from a reputable company first. It gets much harder for those less-known companies or diy’rs to make a true weapon light that is designed from the ground up specifically to be mounted to weapons that fits the bill. You have to get a light that uses a modern mounting pattern like the Scout pattern, has a great IPX rating, accepts or has built-in cable management, thermal dissipation so it doesn’t fry itself to death, still has to be able to take abuse, has circuit and switch redundancy, has or accepts quality switches, all while still having high performing candela/lumens to a modern standard. Long gone are the days of having a light from a company that claims 350 or 500 lumens and be able to call it high performing. It wasn’t too long ago where it seemed that “lumens” was the only stat that companies had to put on the box to sell a light. It’s not hard to find lights that were put out not too long ago that are around 750 to 1,000 lumens but only like 10-20k candela, which really isn’t enough.
