If the crime committed by such gangbangers is so heinous that he or she cannot be trusted to have firearms because they are a danger to society, then they shouldn't be allowed to be in society at all where they can obtain a firearm or drug from the same black market they used to obtain the firearm and or drugs in the first place.
Absolutely nothing stops them from getting the same stolen Glock and cocaine from the back of a trunk that put them in jail in the first place.
The same applies to the mentally deficient. If they cannot get a gun through a gun shop, they can use a knife, make their own gun, or utilize the black market to get one.
Those that are a danger to society shouldn't be in society. Period.

If a felon or anyone who cannot legally purchase a firearm wants one all they need is money and someone who will make an illegal sale. But it shouldn't be made easier or legal for them to obtain any firearm.

Keep them locked up until they are deemed to be trusted to not be a danger to society. It's pretty simple actually.
There should not be special rules for them to follow. Serving time in prison for their crimes is too pay a debt to society... If he did his time, all Rights should be there for him.

I appreciate the kind words, and as for my solution, eliminating NICS would be a good start, and then go after things like the GCA and NFA. That's on the national level though, this is after getting rid of SAFE and the NY Pistol Permit scheme.

Your mistaken they did not lose their rights they forfeited them by committing a felony.
Should they be aloud to vote or hold a professional licences. How about the day they are released from jail their criminal conviction and arrest be erased like it never happen. Cause like it been said they did their time.
