So I searched for an answer to this question extensively throughout this forum to no avail. Therefore, I thought I would start a thread on this topic. I live upstate with a unrestricted CCW and try to carry whenever I can. For the first time in years, I have decided to go downstate to visit some relatives in Long Island (Suffolk County). I have noticed that every set of driving directions require that I pass through at least 1 of the 5 boroughs of NYC. I have also noticed at the back of my CCW that my NY state permit is somehow not valid in NYC (would honestly love to know how they ever got away with that rule). So my question is, since I am driving through the city and am not intended to stop and do anything, would it be permissible under King Deblasio's demands to simply drive with my gun concealed in my waistband like it usually is while I drive? Or is there some other redundant way that is required? Also, since this topic doesn't seem to come here very often, does this statement saying NYS CCWs are not valid in NYC even hold any legal weight? Like is it similar to those "restrictions" that some counties place on permits that have no legal weight whatsoever even if you don't ever follow any of them? Hopefully we won't need to ever consider things like this once HR 38 passes but until then, Thanks in advance to anyone who can answer these questions.
