Mist of the time weapons traces are conducted in situations when the suspect is already known, apprehended and has other evidence against them with the trace simply being added to the pile. In one debate an authority was asked to provide a single case in which a weapon trace return was the determining factor in a conviction. No such case was able to be found.
Thus is a which hunt, done for pu lic consumption for a political end. So called "ghost" guns are not, nor have they ever been nor ever will be, a threat to public safety.

Um no. Once its past the "80%" point it already is already regulated under federal law that it would need to be marked with the makers info to transfer and generally would need to go through a FFL to ship across state lines.

No, this thread is a push at the Federal level to have DHS resurrect the "ghost gun" bogeyman every year in the form of a "threat assessment". The thread you quoted is in reference to the NY bills. Thankfully, the NY bills don't seem to affect 80% components. It seems the NY bill is only targeting non-metallic guns (basically 3-D printed guns, though in theory you could also make them with traditional methods utilizing non-traditional materials and they would be stronger and more practical).
They're intentionally trying to conflate manufacture for personal use with Glock 7-esque "ghost guns" that can pass through metal detectors. Evidently it's working very well.

The defendant was shot when he made a move for his invisible gun. The body Was obviously never recovered. The incident was witnessed first hand by an old woman from the 1800'S who was outside waiting for her husband to return from Gettysburg.
