Here's the thing - If you listen to Health Care professionals that want to shut everything down to save lives - THEY ARE RIGHT.
But that is their focus.
We must, MUST begin to listen to Economicsts.
If we concede to the best wishes of Health Care professionals, we will have a DEPRESSION.

I'd be a little slow to jump on that but knowing what people like Bill Gates has said, what's written on the Georgia Stones (think that's what they're called), and what's wrapped up in Agenda 21. There might be some truth in that. But serious for a minute. My old lady has a very high chance of having it. She was in the ER yesterday. The regular Flu came back negative so it’s a high chance that I gave it to her due to another employee at my job going to the ER last week and testing positive. We will know next week when she gets the results back.
My opinion. Weaker people are susceptible. People like me and you are fine. Most people in my work unit have been exposed but are fine since we tend to be a little fitter due to working the yards rather than sitting on our asses like the revenue train people are. The girl that tested positive at work is what we would call obese. My lady probably got it because her immune system is weak due to a medication that she takes daily. She gets sick all the time. I rarely do.

Same, I rarely get sick.I honestly can't even remember the last time I was extremely sick with any sort of fever. It's been years and years. Maybe once in the entire 5 years I was working and commuting down in NYC on the subway and the commuter trains filled with coughing people. If that, even. Maybe once very 3-5 years I get something bad. And I'm a diabetic to boot (although, I don't need meds and my sugar is really well maintained. I'm down 95 pounds in the last 1.5 years so far.)
A lot of it is probably a combo of lifestyle and genetics. I'd gather more lifestyle. Know your body, and what you have to do to keep it healthy, and you'll be most likely fine.

I was going to keep it hush but I don’t care anymore. My job doesn’t give a shit so why should I? They want me at work tomorrow despite me telling them that she more than likely got it from me since I was exposed and is under quarantine.
She’s getting better though. Fever is gone but she coughs a lot and sleeps all day. Very lethargic and has body aches but compared to yesterday she is a lot better.

It was manageable for the first few days just like the regular flu. She had body aches and a runny nose. Yesterday she had trouble breathing and had a 99.7 fever that went up and down for 3 days so I got scared and we went. They monitored her for about 5 hours and eventually got discharged. She’s on day 5 or 6 of symptoms. Fever is down. She tells me that the flu she got earlier in the year felt worse but she is more concerned with this because of her asthma and coughing fits.
We went to St Anthony’s in Warwick. We weren’t the only ones there for that. 2 got admitted upstairs with respiratory issues. The rest got the fluids, monitoring, and sent home under quarantine like she did. Well that’s what she told me. I wasn’t allowed inside. It was the weirdest thing. They did triage from the parking lot.

So she had asthma before this? That’s definitely something that could contribute during a sickness, but glad you took it seriously.
I think @Catskillkid has some respiratory issues he was concerned about as well with this. He’ll probably be glad to hear someone with some issues is making a full recovery.

I've been doing a lot of research on the COVID-19 in part because I'm what one might consider a "higher" risk individual. So far it seems like asthma is not overly significant in the scheme of things, especially if it's well controlled. I'll need to dig up the study but I think they found that hypertension and heart disease and cancer were bigger comorbidities. Still, when you can't breath well nothing else really matters. I know that feeling and don't ever want to go there.
