With no disrespect to @NirvanaFan..Yes, I agree, the wording is a little better also..now 6 years later though IDK some chit may have changed. But I do prefer the 3 color wording on this one.

Jefferson County- GREEN!
I initially had no intention of getting a carry permit (i carry enough stuff on me everyday, i didn't need to add a gun to that) but the sheriff's deputy talked me into going for an unrestrcted license during my interview (so glad he did.) I LOVE jefferson county's sheriff department.
I mentally bake them cookies every time i see a JC sheriff out and about.

Warren County use to issue unrestricted licenses until the current Judge took office about 14 years ago, he then started restricting them! I have heard that after you have had a restricted license for 5 year you can apply for the Judge to consider removing them.

I can only speak for myself but overall the process in Sullivan was fairly straight forward. Once I got my application together, paid for fingerprinting, NRA safety course, etc. It was about 6 months until the background check was done and the appointment with the judge who issued an unrestricted permit. Not sure but I think this is pretty much the norm. Judge LaBuda is pretty pro-2A from my understanding though he's in some hot water recently (ran over his brother with an ATV) so this may all change if we get a new judge.

Because it's out of date. Westchester and Genesee shouldn't be red. Who knows what else isn't right.
Saratoga and Schenectady are also still red on that map.

When I received my permit in Dutchess, I've had zero problems. Definitely green. The people in the dutchess county sheriff's office are all amazing and polite, and never made any of the process difficult for me at all. Many of my other family members also have their licenses from Dutchess, with no problems.
I will say the process took a while -- I think between 6 months to 1 year to actually get the license. Still, I've never had any problems amending and adding pistols or anything like that.

LOL, try finding one! You can have one with any kind of wrist brace, under NY law. By the way I did see some old style wooden ones in Freight Liquidators a while back. Wonder if they still have them, might get one just for the heck of it.

Albany should be yellow-orange. It really depends on your judge. I'm unrestricted myself.

I agree. The wording of the green shading from the NYFirearms site is more appropriate to Sullivan County than the wording on NirvanaFan's new map.
