Forgive my ignorance, but are FTF long gun purchases GTG without NICS? I honestly never payed any attention to that because I never thought of making out of state purchases other than ammo.

Nearly all States do not require a NICS if you purchase through a Private Person. That is how I would go about things if and when NY really gets out of control.

No one is kicking in your front door to take your rifle. To do so would be a public relations disaster and would draw unwanted attention and additional legal challenges from Pro-2nd Amendment organizations that actually care, unlike the NRA and NYSRPA.

Here's what I believe we will get:

* Red Flag laws
* Ammo purchase card/background check for ammo purchases similar to what they have in Ct. and Mass.
* Actual enforcement by Revenuers (NYSP) of the permit registration requirement
* Expanded waiting periods for all firearms purchases
* Semi-Automatic long gun registration
* Microstamping

Social media law will die on the vine because leftists don't want to open the door to others seeing what THEY post.

Thank NYS Fudds for all this. If they cared about ALL firearms owners and not just those who shoot deer, waterfowl, and the clay shooting sports we wouldn't be in this mess to begin with.

Maybe the Tresmond Law Firm will come to our rescue seeing they've been "pitching their wares" on WYSL and at GOA NY meetings in the Rochester suburb of Henrietta as of late. (LOL).

The DEMS have run the table because the NYSGOP is a dumpster fire of incompetence thanks to Ed Cox. Better believe we're going to get greased and there will be absolutely NOTHING that can stop them.

I think the biggie will be redefining the definition of an assault weapon to a very simple ANY SEMI AUTO CENTER FIRE RIFLE,SHOTGUN is an assault weapon. Then comes a complete ban on them !
Add in a tax per round on ammo and maybe a per round limit and your only recourse would be to be illegal or move or roll your own. Gawd I hate this state and our little bug eyed bastard!

Do what you will do. Be advised that it is illegal according to federal law to buy/sell to someone who is not a resident of the same state as the buyer/seller. There is however no duty to ask for or see identification of the buyer. Many people in free america do adopt a don't ask/tell policy especially if the firearm in question has not been acquired by them thru an FFL.

If they pass the card thing for ammo purchase this could be good. Just think, around the end of October, beginning of November when the FUDDS head to dicks for thier ammo for deer season and can't buy it because they had no idea. Will they blame FUAC or dicks? LOL
