I am not excited about this as I did not want him to resign or get impeached. Now bear in mind that I absolutely despise Cuomo and wanted him gone. I wanted Cuomo to serve out his term and then lose in the next election. I wanted him voted out by the people of nys as it seemed finally that most residents I encountered now hate him. If that had happen then the next election we could see various lesser known democrats run for office and splinter the Democrat voting base. All conservatives/republicans/independents had to do was run one solid candidate and (with the democrat voting base fractured) have a good chance of finally getting someone who is not a democrat voted in. Now hotchul has two years to make a name for herself as governor and secure the next election for the Democrats.

everybody is celebrating like the second Cuomo steps down somehow magicallygun rights would be restored, safe act abolished, pistol permitting scheme abolished, taxes lowered and so on. With hotchul running the show it will be business as usual except with a slightly nicer personality
