she’s done. Little late posting up a pic. Brownells 605 Fixed magazine clone. Went with the DD’s
ranch magazine lock as it was the most discreet option to lock the magazine. Picked up one of the chargers that feeds rounds in thru the ejection port.

Also, what is the deal with the DD mag lock? Is it permanent, like you'd have to drill it out or is it removeable in a way that won't risk marring up your lower?

The lower and upper match, I think the upper looks a little darker because the upper has had a light coat of gun oil on it for a couple weeks longer than the lower, the lower is dry in comparison making it seem a little lighter.

This guy did a custom 605 build. Pretty cool stuff. I don't really like the finish of the final build, but it's still cool. It's an 8 parter.

Bringing the thread back! I know I have already posted a photo of these rifles in my exodus thread, but they also fit here.
So the mid length you all are familiar with (the one I built the triangle handguards for) has gone through some changes over the course of the build. Well, I didn't stop but I also stopped updating the thread, because I wanted to post them once I was safely out of NY.
So I once again changed the stock from the RRA entry to a CAR15. This stock is like modern adjustable carbine stocks, only smaller and if I had the period correct buffer tube it would only be a four position, but I have a six position tube on there.
I also swapped barrels from the target crowned BA 1/7 QpQ heavy bbl to a Delton chrome lined 1/9 light weight bbl with a three prong flash hider.
The handguards took some damage on during the move but I think it adds character.
I also finished building my M16A1 clone. Though some parts aren't period correct. Mostly the bbl. It has an A2 bbl but that is only because all the A1's at a decent price have been out of stock. So this is a work in progress, lol.

So Brownells finally has their retro line M16A1 20" pencil bbl assembly back in stock. I jumped at the chance and ordered one. Til now I've been running an A2 profile bbl, which has a much better twist rate, but it's the wrong profile and twist rate for an accurate clone of the M16A1.
The fit and finish is great! I installed it just now and love it.
I also had bought the correct dust cover a while back and was waiting for the bbl to swap it all out. I think now the only thing I need to change is the butt plate.
I should also find some Colt mags or grey 20rnd mags.
Not sure if I want to color fill the roll marks in white or just leave it alone...

Bringing back an old thread here. I got bored today and decided to work on my M&P 15-22. For better or worse, I have heavily modified this rifle and have been back and forth over the years about how I feel about having done so...anyway, my most recent mod has been to remove the stock quadrail forend and get a barrel nut adapter which allows you to add normal AR15 forends to the rifle. I originially bought an Expo Arms rail from Primary Arms but I just couldn't get it to fit right. So I put on a non-tapered delta ring and decided to use my custom mid- length triangle handguards I made a while back. I put the muzzle thread adaper on with a fake can (it ends up looking like one piece) and I am back in love with this little rifle. I think the goal here is to put a Binary trigger on it (while it's still legal) and just have a neat little retro-esque 22lr. I initially put a carry handle on it, but I also like how it looks with a red dot on it.

I'd take that over the stock m&p any day. I've always been a sucker for a carry handle, and triangle handguards.

Been a while, I don't remember. It's either 1/7, or 1/8, I'm not at home to check.
