First thing for me is getting the slide milled for the optic and the grips replaced to make weight. I'm going to need 3 more mags as well.

CZ Custom did mine and I have always been happy with their work (I have one of their tuned Shadows). Primary Machine promises faster turnaround though.

I think DA/SA has added value for CCW in second strike capability. When under stress you're almost certainly going to pull the trigger again before tap and racking on a dead round. I love my makarov but yeah that first shot can mess shit up. When practicing drawing and firing it seems like the first shot takes FOREVER and I'm moving in slow motion. I know it's just a mental thing and it's me concentrating way more on the first shot but it's something that definitely has to be trained for.
2nd strike is horrible 80s style thinking and you should train to attack a malfunction asap.

Second strike is merely a feature that comes in pistols that are double action, and not a way or style of thinking. I never heard anyone say you need less training with a pistol that has second strike ability even in the 80s.
Sure people talk about second strike as a good thing, its not bad in any way.

Like 71 said second strike capability is just something that's there. Just like if a round doesn't go off in a revolver you just pull the trigger again and hopefully the next round fires. But if we want to talk about training, when you're adrenaline is high and you're just trying to get shots on target as fast as possible, do you think it's more likely that you'll immediately stop on a dead round or you pull the trigger again? Again it's just something that is there and hopefully will cause the round to go off when struck again.

Thanks I've got to get my hands on a DPP first before I send it off. I'm still not sure if I should get that or the Vortex Venom. The venom is lighter and cheaper and is a dot vs the DPP triangle.
The ones that came with it are 18 rounders and they don't fit flush.
Well you know what I mean, they don't protrude conspicuously.

FYI - CZ Custom mills & taps the slide to handle various popular optics, so you don't need to make the call on what you are going to buy before you send it off. I'd suggest sending it to whoever you decide ASAP, given turnaround times.
I have the DPP with a dot, not a triangle, and am 100% satisfied.

I just saw the thing about the plates, I sent them an email but their website says its for firing pin block model pistols. I'm hoping they offer a similar service for the decocker ones. Otherwise I might be SOL.

The point was it's a useless feature that no modern training doctrine uses.
Hell since we are talking about a competition gun. Watch all levels of shooters, many do run CZ, watch yo see if anyone has malfunction (even those who use other DA/SA) I bet we can take an educated guess on how many would use second strike if they pulled the trigger and didn't get a bang like they expected

This is what it looked like before the optic broke 5 weeks ago and I still haven't got it back from Leopold.
I got 5 of the mec-gar mags and 5 of the +4 TTI mag extendos in grey, I've also got a set of grey g10 grips from LOK. My plan is to take off that little protective piece on the optic and krylon it grey as well. I'll post another pic then.
