No. I asked if you had a problem with the forum being COMPELLED to provide a platform for speech it disagrees with.

It's not too far a stretch to go from Apple and Google banning an app, so hosting platforms banning sites, to DNS providers refusing to respond to queries for them...

Might not be long before you have to learn to use the dark web to read about the perils of communism, or to get actual unfiltered news.

Should your phone company be compelled to complete calls if they don't like who you want to talk to ?

Should your ISP be able to block the parts of the internet they don't think you should see ?

Both are protected from prosecution because they have special standing as "common carriers". The ISP doesn't get prosecuted because one of their customers downloaded kiddie porn.

The phone company doesn't get prosecuted because the bank robbers used their network to coordinate.

With the protections the "common carrier" or "platform" status confers is the explicit need *not* to meddle in the content.

The only reason those statuses exist is because the companies claim it would be impossible for them to provide the service without allowing that stuff through.


If Facebook can successfully censor conservative ideas, then they have proven they *can* exercise editorial content over their site, and they no longer need the sec 230 protection. So it should be removed.

If Twitter earns revenue though advertising, then fewer eyes on ads will mean less revenue.

At what point will Twitter shareholders consider recent actions by management to be a breach of their fiduciary responsibilities?

I don't understand the provide a platform question. The forum is here for anyone to use it as long as they follow the rules. I am not asking the forum to change anything they do in running the forum for us to make it different for an anti. If you are asking me if the forum should kick people off who are anti I would say no although if it is truly not public in ownership and that is their policy I suppose it is free to do what it wants. I also don't think this site gets massive tax subsidies. I believe Obama even made a speech saying Facebook wouldn't exist without government funding.

So BD you don't have any problem with twitter censoring trump but allowing the ayatollah of iran to make posts calling for the destruction of israel? Or how about facebook removing the "walk away" group page?

BTW, this is what Trump asked Pence to do in his own words:
